- Live Aid attempts to raise funds for famine relief.

- January 20 - U.S. President Ronald Reagan is sworn in for a second term in office.

-February 1 - AM stereo broadcasting starts in Australia.

-March 11 - Mikhail Gorbachev becomes the General Secretary of the Soviet Communist Party and de facto leader of the Soviet Union.

-March 20 - Libby Riddles becomes the first woman to win the 1,135-mile Iditarod dog sled race.

June 6 - The body of Josef Mengele is located and exhumed in Brazil.

June 14 - TWA Flight 847 is hijacked by Hezbollah.

July 10 - The Greenpeace vessel, the Rainbow Warrior is bombed and sunk in Auckland harbour by French DGSE agents

September 1 - A joint American-French expedition locates the wreck of the RMS Titanic. 

October 7 - The passenger ship Achille Lauro is hijacked by Palestinians.

Actually I do watch Biography back in da day when A&E show it since I don't get Biography channel I have hear of him LOL!

Actually thanks to Biography and Turner Classic movies I think I know alot about Old School Hollywood

Unlike my Generation Generation X I don't care about reality shows at all I watch A&E or History Channel

Believe or not I did attend public school what really scare my teacher I kinda knew Angela Lansbury and Jane Wyman from Falcon Crest I used go to

I am a History Channel, AMC, and TCM junkie. Also, Spike shows ST:TNG and DS9 along with CSI.

I watched a Mat Helm movie today while reading for comps.

Actually one of my childhood neighbor son used to be lighting dude on set of Falcon crest there is one degree of separation to Jane Wyman LOL!


He now retired from movie business yeah I have hear of Jane Wyman even before that from watch old movie on local stations here in SO CAL

I hate "reality" TV because it is not anywhere near reality. If they wanted to make Survivor real, they wouldn't have anyone booted off the bloody island. They would dump them on the island and let them work together to build shelter, acquire food, etc.

REAL reality TV would be cameras following an average person at work and at home.
