I received this fairly anonymously from a church member and have no email for the author, sorry! Thank you for your kind thoughts, however. I'm sure the men know and appreciate them.

Though I'm sure that our servicewomen appreciate the insertion into the Orwell quotation, quotations tend to work best when directly quoted rather than paraphrased. In my opinion, anyway. Very well.

THE WALL |
I came upon her crying at The Wall She stumbled like she might be bout to fall I held my arms out, took her by the hand I said "Hello, there, can I help you, M'am?"
She softly smiled and said "Thank you very much." And I felt the desperation in her touch "My son is up there somewhere, proud and tall But I cannot read the names upon The Wall."
Well, she whispered out his name And told me when it was he died Then I searched along the wall Till I finally found the one she described
Then I placed her trembling hands In the letters that were etched in stone she said "Momma's here, Son Let me take you home."
There are walls to keep us out and keep us in Like the wall they built between us in Berlin There are walls of hate that never seem to end But this Wall of Love has made us one again I came upon her crying--at The Wall

Things were quite a bit rougher at the beginning (I remember when Eric wrote with great joy, months into his deployment, that he had eaten his first non-MRE meal), but it still ain't no Gitmo. (MRE's aren't good enough for the killers there......)

No kidding....I actually ordered a gitmo 't' from the rush limbaugh shop....because I am furious over the politically correct in this nation worrying about how a koran is treated, or if the air conditioning is cool enough at gitmo to a greater degree than how our troops are treated!
I will wear it...and so will my husband.
Our President called upon us to actively support our troops.
I am starting that this week. These pictures ( at top of thread )are treasures that are worth far more than a thousand words.
Please tell Eric how deeply we appreciate him...as a defender of our nation and as a defender of Christ.

God bless each and every one of them.
Whenever I get cranky, I think of what they are going through, and once I get over feeling like a selfish witch, I give thanks to them.
