If the doublestack microGlocks like the 30 are too wide for your hand or taste, there's now the singlestack 36 with a slimmer frame. Same caliber, just thinner. And a very, very nasty surprise for Druggie Troll. The .45 ACP is, IMHO, the most effective overall pistol round.
The 36 is much more punishing to shoot. If you need thinner, go with a steel frame like the Kimber 1911s.
Keep your eye on the .45 GAP pistols coming out now for carry. The .45 GAP produces virtually identical ballistics to the .45 ACP and can be packed in a smaller platform. It looks to be one of the nicest developments in the CCW world in some time.
