Two .38 rounds (the most a derringer will carry) won't stop many of the druggie trolls out there these days. That's why police departments are moving to the .40 and back to the .45.

Yeah, I was just giving advice to a female I don't know. You know, light, tiny etc. A 38 derringer beats nothing every single time.

.45 is my choice and has been for many years.

If one is going to buy a derringer, buy one that takes 4/10 shot gun shells, at least then you get some serious stopping power and you don't have to aim real good. I like a 357 revoler.
