FReepers vs. Code Pink at Walter Reed -- Join us July 1!
DC Chapter ^ | June 29, 2005 | BillF

Posted on 06/29/2005 2:36:51 PM PDT by BillF

On Friday night, June 24, FReepers FReeped Code Pink assembled at a gate of Walter Reed Army Medical Center for the 11th time in just over twelve weeks. Again, we had an excellent turnout due in part to reinforcement of  DC Chapter FReepers by out-of-town FReepers.

At least five of the FReepers traveled more than 60 miles for the event including at least one FReeper from the following states outside the DC- Maryland-Virginia area: Colorado, Florida, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey (albeit some of them were in the area for other reasons). Why weren't you there to counter Code Pink's anti-war protest at Walter Reed?

The Pinkos evil scheme is to fake friendship with soldiers in hopes of finding one or more who, vulnerable in their wounded state, can be manipulated into joining the anti-war movement and breaking faith with their fellow troops. Many of the most severely wounded troops from the war in Iraq and Afghanistan are taken to Walter Reed for continued treatment and rehabilitation. Will you stand up against the leftists by peacefully opposing them next Friday night? Or is that Friday night movie, TV show, or ballgame too important?

The honor roll of those in attendance: tgslTakoma, Albion Wilde, bmwcyle, Apple Blossom, Justanobody, sauropod, hellinahandcart, jan in Colorado, Doctor Raoul, Gondring, lurker Joan, and BillF.  Opposed to our twelve patriots, the leftists peaked at fifteen America-hating traitors for a short period, but most of the time they had less than our number. Apparently, their numbers came at least partly from an anti-military recruiting protest of DC Anti-War Network put on at a recruitment center about a mile away, which ended an hour or two earlier.

This was the fourth week in a row that we outnumbered the Pinkos for most of the two hour window that their protest is scheduled for, albeit they had a higher peak number this night and outnumbered us for a small portion of the time. As happened the last few times, many Pinkos arrived quite late and left pretty close to their ten pm quitting time like they were escaping from a job that they don't like.

An Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran and former soldier stopped by to chat with us. This remarkable woman, Lindsey, made a movie of her experiences in Iraq. You can see a preview here, http://www.therealiraq.com and a DVD of the full movie will apparently come out in September. She had also been a patient at Walter Reed.

One of the Pinko women came over to walk along in front of our signs. When she asked what a "blood dance" is (one of our signs referred to Code Pinkos as doing a blood dance), I responded that it was "what you're doing, an obscene attempt to exploit war-wounded for your twisted, hate-America propaganda purposes."

One of the Pinko eunuchs across the street gave us a double flip off, signaling his IQ with each of his hands at the same time. Getting the finger from a leftist is a sure sign of a successful FReep. After he flipped us off, he then turned his backside to us and shook his tail, in a manner recalling the actions of Congresswoman Maxine Waters at a FReep a week ago.

As before, we had more honks of support from passing motorists than the leftists did, not that we encourage honks in the hospital zone. As happened last week, we had two police cars honk to support us. (Note that there are numerous different police departments in DC). Also, an ambulance was among the vehicles honking to support us.

One leftist going by shouted at us: "Tell Bush to send the twins."

Importantly, a huge bus turned into Walter Reed, followed by a smaller patient van, shortly before the end of the FReep. These were wounded soldiers and Marines returning from some recreational activity. Most likely, they had gone to the Washington Nationals baseball game. Some troops in the bus were waving and giving us thumbs up signals through the windows.

As we have done on a number of these FReeps, we ate pizza on site before the FReep was under way.

We absolutely must keep the pressure on Code Pink and keep showing the wounded soldiers at Walter Reed that Code Pink doesn't speak for the nation. If you live in the DC area and haven't yet come out for one of these FReeps, please do so this next Friday. Injured Walter Reed patients, including amputees, have repeatedly told us how important it is for us to be there to counter Code Pink.

If we can sufficiently outnumber the leftists often enough, embarrassment may cause the leftists to stop these outrageous morale-damaging ("Maimed for a lie" is one of their signs) demonstrations at the hospital. What about you? Can you spare a few hours on a Friday night?

Can you give up next Friday night at the movies to support troops who've given up limbs for your freedoms? Will you?

And smile when you do it!

Normally it's easy to laugh at those ignorant, ungrateful nimrods, but this time around smiling may be my biggest challenge. But Kristinn and Angelwood are bringing Whiffle ball bats to keep me in line. :-)

I have passed this thread on to someone who knows a LOT of Vets ~ maybe one or two can help. I wish I could. Right now I'm torn between wishing I could be in FL to counter Fred Phelps or DC to help counter PinkoWenches. What a weekend that would be ~ DC on Friday night, road trip on Sat and Sunday, counter Phelps on Monday. Someday, when kids are grown, I want to do this stuff....!

You do plenty right where you're at, including raising four beautiful children to cherish their freedom and those who protect it.

Is it simply coincidence that "pink" and "stink" rhyme? I think not.

Normally it's easy to laugh at those ignorant, ungrateful nimrods, but this time around smiling may be my biggest challenge.

I'm sure they'll be at the Pentagon Tuesday morning, like they were the Tuesday after Memorial Day, when I almost completely lost it with them. I catch the Metro at the Pentagon most days, and they are always there Mondays, and Tuesdays if Monday was a holiday. If it looks like I can get out the door early on a Monday, I throw on my "Support Our Troops" t-shirt & stand there with a flag that says "Thank You for My Freedom" till I absolutely have to catch the train to my office.

I was so outraged that even the day after Memorial Day, the little weasels couldn't summon up one damned crumb of gratitude that I was almost foaming at the mouth - when the chief weasel said "God Bless You", I asked why would I want a blessing from Satan? Unfortunately, I didn't think of the best line till I was halfway down the escalator, but I'm saving it for next Tuesday:

"Why don't you just go over to Arlington Cemetery & piss on some graves to show them what you really think?"

Hey, I've used that very line (or something very similar) a few times! Great work at the Metro. Will you and/or hubby be there tonight?

Thanks for being there for those of us who can't.

I'm just a tag-along. The thanks belong to the D.C. chapter of FR.

We can't make it tonight - too much company coming in for the big party & too much work remains to be done - I'm supposed to be cutting the grass right now.

We're hoping to be able to start making it on Fridays after this one. We've been trying to finish up five years' worth of projects in the last few months.

And I notice (after posting, of course) that I left out a couple of words - it should be "...with a flag AND A SIGN that says..."

They won't. They actually seem to be Quaker-types, except for one old bat that has a collection of signs with slogans like "US is the Number One Terrorist State" and "Torture is US Policy". There are a couple of girls from Protest Warrior that show up as their schedules permit, and one time when the peaceniks were chanting some anti-war stuff, we drowned them out with the Star Spangled Banner, and they stopped. Perhaps out of shame, perhaps because we were singing very badly (it's hard to sing on key when there's only a few of you trying to drown out fifty of them) and they realized that we wouldn't shut up unless they did.

And we'll set up two pavilions, three grills, a volleyball net/croquet court and 12-foot swimming pool where?

Please help us bump this thread throughout the day, as well as pass the word via your ping lists. Thanks in advance.

I can normally deal with the socialists and anti-war freakazoids, but I'm especially upset by these scumbags literally getting in the faces of our wounded troops and their families. And on Independence Day weekend! Grrrr!

Coop do you do this every weekend? I'll see if I cant get a few Friday afternoons off to come on down
