"See post #152Exactly why BagCamAddict's ideas are so revelant. Should we not do something to stop this insanity, we will have a few hundred million more mouths to feed very soon.

"Should we not do something to stop this insanity, we will have a few hundred million more mouths to feed very soon. "We? Who do you think is feeding you if not the migrant farm workers and immigrants working in the packing houses. Ever hear the story about the golden goose? Or as we say in Texas, "If it ain't broke don't fix it."
Our economy is booming. Unemployment is at an all time high and employers are begging for workers. Productive workers are the most valuable asset a nation can have. They produce the wealth that the wealthy use to pay most of our taxes.
The job market is so tight that the military is paying high school grads up to $20,000 to enlist plus another $75,000 in college money.
It can't get any better.

Keep up the great work at the border.I'm sure that the border security is much better since 9/11.It's common sense after all.

Regarding post #152.
Good post. But, I don't think a failure is a reason to give up. If indeed, it DID fail. I suspect incompetance by do-gooders on several levels, who desired failure.
I do not trust our Government enough to trust ANY of their "reports". That is saddest of all for me...

But electricity (or some physical deterrent) would remove the weak link of requiring a human response to all attempted crossings. <<<
Electric fencing has worked for cattle for years. For Mexico, I would recommend electric fencing topped with RAZOR WIRE, surrounded by a mine field.

Excellent post. I wondered why no one in the administration mentions Ok. City as a possible reason we are in iraq now it all makes sense. Great stuff Peach.

Uh... Cows haven't yet figured out how to throw an old mattress over the wires.

Well, I think an electric fence to stop Mexicans should maybe be a "tad" bit higher than those used for Cattle.
I'm sure not every illegal will have a mattress available anyway, though it would be handy at Siesta times during their trek across the desert.
Why are you giving liberals ideas anyway? Now we'll see "Mattresses for Mexicans" fund raisers if that fence ever gets built...

A month or so ago fr had a great thread on the Israeli fence with the sensors, drive around road, barbed wire, doubled, cameras, it is nearly fail safe. That's what we need. It will cost 6-8 billion to do the whole mexicon border but worth every penny IMHO.
