Maybe at the Rio Grande, heh? People coming across the border are looking for jobs not out to kill us.

Passing the Iraq Liberation Act in 1998. Who voted for that? About all of 'em, Kerry, even Dennis Kucinich.

"....big picture scenario that is too complicated for the "sound-bite" crowd."
Imagine how tough it must be for those that only have one cylinder running on low test. But what I see the job of those that claim to have a good picture to do, is bear with one another and appeal through accurate rebuttals etc., what is sometime lacking in the others analysis. Of course as more accurate or almost accurate good news comes forth, we shall have less of a burden of proof.

"The only thing necessary to insure the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing" - Edmund Burke (1729-1797)
It's not that we have done nothing. We have sent the message that if you threaten us, we will invade your country and imprison your leaders. I agree with going in, assuring no WMDs, and getting ride of Saddam, but what kind of war are we fighting? We are building schools, roads and sanitation. Iraq is a big welfare program now and our troops are still getting killed at the same rate they were a year ago. I guess I'm repeating myself but I don't see the wisdom in continuing this route. Our troops are dying to build roads and give the Iraqi people democracy? Heh, this was not part of the deal. We were going to be welcomed as liberating heros and the Iraqi oil revenue would cover reconstruction. If we stopped after capturing Saddam and went home then, I'd be happy. Democracy is better than no democracy, but we don't owe it to them. All Iraqi lives are not worth one American life. That's the route of my position. If there are still terrorists in Iraq, we should be nuking them, dropping daisy cutters, etc. Instead we are running a welfare program while our troops are getting picked off like clay pigeons. Our troops are the best in the world, but they are not, and should not be welfare workers. Also, with the evolving reasons of why we are in Iraq, I got off the bandwagon when we continued after capturing Saddam and assuring there were no WMDs.

All of those links, and yet the WH still doesn't go with them. Why do you suppose that that is? Read your name. That's the answer.

Maybe you could tell me why. Help me correct my idiocy.
Would it help if I start calling other posters who I don't agree with idiots?

Sorry for the harsh language, but from your first sentence (Iraq is about 9/11?) to your last paragraph, this was some of the most irrational posting I've ever seen.
Quote:
"It's time for President Bush to stop blowing smoke up my ass, bring our troops home and enforce our borders and immigration laws. Also, I don't see the wisdom of training Iraqis so they are as capable as our troops. Iran use to be our friend. Much of their military capability came from us."
If after two years of being on this board hasn't enlightened you, there is nothing I can say to change that. Heck, within this very thread others have made those points...which I noticed you've ignored. I apologize for calling you an idiot...ignorant would've been more appropriate.
