was killed on a mostly 22-11 party-line vote in the Democratic-controlled Senate. Excellent. A stick to beat them with in 2006 elections....

Every State needs to make them get on record whether they are for or against this.

So the Democrats are on board with towns just taking people's homes. Make sure this article gets e-mailed to everyone you know.

The Democratic Party -- the domain of big corporations, fat cats, bribes, back-room deals, big lawyers, palm-greasing, special interests to the detriment of the common person -- we know the score now.

This is clear evidence of who the Democrats really are. But will the people of Connecticut wake up and smell the coffee? I doubt it. Old habits, even when they go against your best interests, die hard.
To: oblomov
It would be interesting to check in on Connecticut later and see if the new tax base is working or not. But the question that I've never seen answered is "What happens if the new tax base doesn't work out?"

It appears that 2/3rds of Connecticut is composed of Dems & Libs. Sounds like the state gets what they deserve. See if they vote different the next time around.

22-11 party-line vote in the Democratic-controlled Senate. The DUmmies have been saying all week that the GOP was in favor of the eminent domain court ruling and the Democrats were the ones who would be fighting for the little guy.
This goes to show how gullible they are.

Could SCOTUS have given the GOP a winning issue for the state legislatures in 2006?

To the people of CT, the value of your property has been reduced by the action of the SCOTUS and your commie legislators. In mass, you must flood your tax assessors offices demanding a reduction in your taxes.

Correct me if I'm wrong. Aren't ALL of us - from all parties - PO'd about that Supreme Court ruling? The democrats are digging their own graves if they defeat this attempt. Whatever.

The proposal...was killed on a mostly 22-11 party-line vote in the Democratic-controlled Senate.
The House of Representatives, which also is run by Democrats, defeated a similar proposal 82-50.
