As a Marine Corps officer, I spent five years and five months in a prisoner of war camp in North Vietnam. I believe this gives me a benchmark against which to measure the treatment which Sen. Richard Durbin, Illinois Democrat, complained of at the Camp of Detention for Islamo-fascists at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Yes, perspective and wise judgment seems to have departed from many people's brains at this time in human history.
The "Guantanamo Bay Tropical Camp for Terrorists" is a lot better than a Russian Gulag, German Concentration Camp or North Vietnamese Prison Camp.

Compelling message. I salute you.

A hero for sure. He is far too kind to turbin durbin and the rest. I cannot for the life of me understand why the country isn't outraged at these pathetic leftists. I know they are mentally challenged and all, but still, I just cannot fathom their attitudes.

Sir, I not only salute you, I honor you as I wait my turn while my son serves in the US Marines this very day. I am proud to wear "my son is a US Marine" Tshirt; I wear it everywhere! I love this country and I live in abject horror as some of my countrymen let words, that if they are not treasonous, they show at best betrayal, fall from their lips. I do not know why especially the leaders are allowed such talk. An example should be made and charges of sedition should be brought; after all, we are at
war!Thank you for speaking up and putting those who give aid and comfort to the enemy back up on their heels by your example and your words. Thank you! And, may God continue to bless the United States of America.

And of course, this appeared in the Washington Times. I don't think that the Washington Post or the New York Times will be reprinting it.

Those that fail to remember the past are doomed to repeat it. Now G.W. Bush has the leaders of N. Vietnam, with the same political views, communism, sitting in the white house kissing their asses so big business can make more money trading with them. How soon we forget.
Question: Has dimbulb Durbin ever served in the military?
Mr. Warner has my deepest respect
I have no respect for Kerry, Kennedy, Durbin, Polosi, (sp) et al.

You know SmithL, when I read this before posting it, it broke my heart.
Then I got mad.
For Mr. Warner to have to write this at all is a shame.
The Democrats (at least the one's in Washington) have earned my wrath for compelling that proud Marine, who endured so much, to have to explain to them how wrong they are.
He deserves to enjoy life now, not be forced to relive a nightmare in the hope that they will change their ways.
