SAN FRANCISCO - If it takes a queer eye to notice that the cast of Bravo cable networks Queer Eye for the Straight Guy ride in Volkswagens during New Yorks gay pride parade, thats just what the car maker intends.
Similarly, Wells Fargo hopes the crowds attending San Franciscos gay pride parade get a good look at its employees singing show tunes atop the stagecoach-themed float the bank entered in its hometown event on Sunday.
Despite boycott threats from anti-gay groups and the perception of a gay marriage backlash from the American public, corporate sponsorship of gay pride festivities held around the country in June remains strong this year, according to event organizers and advertising agencies that specialize in reaching gay and lesbian consumers.

Fortunately all companies I do not like/purchase from anyway. They pander to the minority - let them sell to them as well.
Looks like I will NOT be buying that new Mustang and I need to change my bank account.
Many US Corporations have been in a race to the bottom of the ethical septic tank for some years now. The race seems to be heating up.
Guess if you want to take a vacation farther than a few hundred miles from your home you'll be supporting our happy little gay Boeing community whether you like it or not.
Ain't life grand?
I closed my Wells Fargo accounts about a month or so ago. However, it was not because they supported gay men dressed in drag singing of top of a stage coach...it was because they suck (no pun intended).

I'm looking forward to the day that outfits like Wells Fargo and Ford sponsor "Fat and Freckled Pride",or "Shopoholic Pride". After all, shouldn't I share my pride in who I am? [My tongue is firmly inserted in my cheek.] Hey, how about if we ask Target to sponsor a Freeper Pride Parade through the streets of San Francisco or Berkeley?
From a practical perspective you are not missing anything. I am renting this POS right now and it is terrible. Lots of motor sound, but no power. Plastic "chrome" like the models you put together as a kid. Handles like a bathtub. No auto-anything. Just a POS. Next time, I want a Mazda 6
The reason is simple...more "gays" & lesbians are high on the corporate ladder's these days.
So true. And they do tend to take care of their own.
"Ain't life grand?"
I'm tempted to post, "Life Sucks" here.....but I won't...I won't....the h*ll I won't!
She said that nowhere else in the world would her daughter see the kinds of things that she could see at the parade.
I for one would hesitate to dispute at least the latter comment.
;-)
Though I haven't been to a Mardi Gras in recent decades either...
;-) ;-)
do you have the 6 cylinder version? even the 6 i think should have something like 210HP i think the v8 is 300hp
Gay support and poor quality cured me of buying another ford.
Can't boycott many of these companies because they are ingredients in a finished product. Dupont comes to mind. Sure you can try to boycott Teflon, but who else makes the material for bullet proof vests, or that fake marble like substance, or the resin that sandwich bags are made from, or coke and pepsi syrup for fountain drinks is made from, or the tyvak mailing envelopes, carpets and the ingredients that go into it. You couldn't completely boycott them if you wanted to. Someone on a reply noted that the Mustang sucks, but they want their Mazda 6. If I recall, Ford owns a substantial stake in Mazda.
I dont have a complaint with Ford's quality. Had a '88 Stang GT and a '91 Stang Convertable(With Nitro man that thing was fast) Both were wonderful cars.
POS, trust me.
