As to the ceremony in NYC, Cardinal Egan, like Cardinal O'Conner would not permit it either.
Well, as long as they have the cool vestments, the incense, the candles, the wine and the bread, that's close enough to count as "Catholic" for them. The outward trappings, you know. Style over substance.
This is not an accusation lobbed at the Roman Catholic Church, but I wonder... are there any cases of sexual molesation in the American "Catholic" Church?
Just because the media does not trumpet them nationally, does not mean they don't occur. School teachers and UN officials have also been caught molesting many victims with coverups by their employers.
