Democrat Crybabies - (Karl Rove, clever professional..knew precisely what he was doing!)
CHRONWATCH.COM ^ | JUNE 27, 2005 | JAN LARSON

Oh boy, did Karl Rove put bees in a few bonnets last week. Rove, speaking at a meeting of the New York Conservative Party, said, “liberals … wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers” while describing the differences between conservative and liberal philosophies to the attacks of 9/11.

Without naming names, Rove set off the usual firestorm of condemnation among Washington Democrats, some of whom called for him to “take it back” while others went so far as to call for his resignation as a presidential advisor. Boo hoo hoo! You would have thought that Rove had taken the candy from the mouths of these crybabies.

Barely a week after Democratic Senator Dick Durbin compared America soldiers at Guantanamo Bay to Hitler, Stalin, and Pol Pot, these bastions of righteousness got their feelings bruised by Rove. Poor babies.

I’ve got to think that Mr. Rove has had a difficult time sleeping the past few days, not due to feelings of remorse over his remarks, but rather from laughing so hard all day long. He threw out the bait and like a school of suckerfish, Democrats Schumer, Clinton, and others came swimming up and took a big bite. No wonder Rove is often referred to as “masterminding” the president’s previous two elections.

Rove is no dummy, to be sure. Even though he was speaking before a friendly audience of conservatives, he had to know that any remarks attacking liberals would be repeated in the press. He also knew that the usual suspects would take great offense at them, using the opportunity to preen before the cameras while coming off sounding like the stooges they are. Larry Schumer, Curly Clinton, and Moe Pelosi stepped up right on cue.

Schumer even went so far as to write a letter (he probably didn’t actually write the letter, but more than likely dictated it to one of his Senate lackeys) to Rove calling Rove’s speech, “a slap in the face to the unity that America achieved after September 11, 2001.” Hillary was so impressed by Schumer’s tough talk that she rubber-stamped her signature on the letter as well.

I hate to tell you this, Chuck, but that unity has been slapped silly by the likes of you, Hillary, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and the omnipresent Howard Dean many, many times since then. Actually, it has been more than slapped silly, it has been slapped dead.

Pelosi’s comments were the most hilarious. “To try to exploit 9/11 for political purposes once again just shows you how desperate they (Republicans) are.” That’s rich. The Republicans control the presidency, both houses of Congress and the majority of governorships (but not the judiciary, but that is a subject for another time), but “Moe” thinks that they are “desperate?”

I would say that the reactions to Rove’s comments are surprising, except that I’m not surprised. There would be at least some justification for outrage had Rove mentioned any of the current Democratic leadership by name, but his remarks were aimed at “liberals” in general, and the liberal group MoveOn.org in particular. I’m also not surprised that Democrats would criticize Rove regardless of what he said, but coming so soon after Durbin’s remarks which if not actually defended, were at least not widely condemned by Democrats is disingenuous at best.

Democrats are constantly pleading with the president and Republicans to “reach out” to them, but it is hard to reach out to sniveling children like Schumer and Pelosi when there are real issues to deal with such as a war, national security, etc., and the leaders of the Democratic Party breaks down and bawls as soon as someone says something that hurts their feelings.

"...and the leaders of the Democratic Party breaks down and bawls as soon as someone says something that hurts their feelings."

Had I been writing this piece, I would have concluded it with, "....as soon as a Republican says anything whatsoever - however benign-while-being-true - which Democrats can use as a pretense for "hurt" or "offended" feelings."

I am glad someone put into words exactly what I was thinking, but couldn't quite verbalize. The nail has been struck firmly on its head.

Agreed. Why else are they so fixated on being "liked" by the world (i.e. France & Germany)?

The real smart of Rove is that he blamed it on "Liberals", not Democrats with the expectation that the would agree, yeah we are Liberals and we are insulted.

It gets harder for them to back away from the Liberal label. There are a few Republicans that may fall into that camp too.

Larry Schumer, Curly Clinton, and Moe Pelosi

I enjoy this as much as everyone else, but it seems that Clinton is more like Moe than Curly. Beligerant, hot-tempered, and willing to poke somebody's eyes out with her fingers.
