A re-enactment of a battle will be held between a blue and a red team, rather than Britain versus France, in order not to offend the French.
This has to be one of the stupidest things I have ever heard of...trampling on history just because it would hurt the French's feelings? Gimme a break! And I think that Nelson's fleet could have whipped the Charles de Gaulle considering how crappy of a ship it really is...

OOOH! The Europeans are going against their wussy tendencies and renacting a battle? We better watch our butts because the Chinese may rule the waves before we know it. They shoud reenact the battle of the Spartans against the Athenians just for fun.

Any bets as to whether the CdG will lose yet another propeller in the process?

Is this the same fwench navy whose ships recently struck a moored vessel in NY Harbor?
Is this the same fwench navy whose airplanes got lost and had to land in Atlantic City ... and then were upset when asked to pay for fuel?
On the other hand, keep in mind that the 'de gull' is a "real" aircraft carrier while all that the Brits have left are VSTOL (Harrier) carriers.

One of the sailors on board the warship jokes that the Charles de Gaulle will be escorted into the English Channel by a British frigate in order to "ward off the spirit of Admiral Nelson", Perhaps this would be a more appropriate escort? (HMS Trafalgar)
