Where is St. John's beach? It sounds familiar to me.

Last time the country was distracted by "a rash" of shark attacks, we got a wakeup call on 9-11.

If it is Port St. John then that is in the space coast, not that far from Kennedy Space Center. I think it is between Titusville and Cocoa.

I was thinking the same thing. We were focused on sharks on Chandra Levy.

This time it's Natalee Halloway and sharks.

Oh, thanks. I'm going to get the atlas.

We've visited the Kennedy Space Center many times; maybe that's why the name is familiar to me.

The first attack was about 30 miles west of Panama City Beach. This one, near Port St. John, is about 30 miles east of PCB.

There were 14 shark attacks in Florida last year. None were fatal. Looks like the sharks are out to break their record.........

Thanks for that info.

Did you read about the guy who tried to save the young girl from a shark attack? He punched the shark and tried to deflect attention away from her. That takes guts.

My bad. Port Saint Joe...not John is where the attack has taken place. Mod,can you fix. I live just outside Port St.John and it did not happen here. Port St.Joe is where the attack was. Gulf of Mexico again...NOT ATLANTIC.

Not to minimize any trajedy. Precautions must be taken.

Death by shark attack is extremely rare. I would worry more about rip tides.

Great. Heading out for family vacation in 3 weeks to PCB. My kids are going to be fit to be tied when my wife won't let them anywhere near the ocean.
