Diana wanted to be US' first lady

Princess Diana had a passionate affair with John F Kennedy Jr, according to a new book on the late former wife of Prince Charles.

Diana and Kennedy, who both died in tragic accidents in the 1990s, met in New York in 1995 when the son of the assassinated US president sought an interview with her for his magazine George , the Sun newspaper reported today.

She refused but agreed to meet him in his luxury suite in the Manhattan hotel overlooking Central Park, according to Simmons, described by the paper as a "friend and confidante" of the late Princess of Wales.

Diana was "bowled over" by Kennedy's charm. "We started talking, one thing led to another and we ended up in bed together. It was pure chemistry," she is quoted as saying in Simmons book 'Diana: the last word'.

Also, according to the new biography, Diana thought the pair would make a great team and even entertained the idea of becoming the United States' first lady if he went into politics.

Upon her return to London, Diana had an astrological chart drawn up on Kennedy and concluded that they were not compatible enough to pursue a relationship, according to Simmons.

They remained in contact for some time before Kennedy married Carolyn Bessette the following year.

Diana was killed in 1997 in a car accident in Paris.

Kennedy, his wife and her sister Lauren Bessette were all killed when the plane he was piloting crashed near Martha's Vineyard in July 1999.

Whatever happened to not speaking ill of the dead, and letting souls rest in peace?

The National Enquirer.

From what is known about John-John's habits, he prolly had Di up to his pad for a coke or two. They hit the sack and their pillow talk was of the restoration of Camelot...

Yeah, right. Neither would never have made it past the paparazzi for such a rendezvous. Too bad...John-John and Di would have made a terrific couple ;-)

Yet more evidence that she was a narcisistic, out of touch slattern with a borderline personality disorder.

We've already had one of those as first lady. Don't need another, thanks.

Sorry for being so inarticulate in my previous post. I should know better!
Have a little mercy on me though, I'm the sole female in a house with four boys. Seems I've picked up some of their bad habits! : )

I'm not tying to Kennedy bash or anything. Really. But, did anyone else ever get the feeling that JFK Jr was gay?

Maybe it's just my envy of his prettyboy image. But that's the impression I always had. Nice fellow ...
