Good picks, but Hamilton was the one that created the central bank and was for a strong federal government. He and Jefferson were polar opposites.
But I do have a lot of respect for the man, if not for some of his ideas.

Good for President Reagan.

I will never ever forget the outpouring of pride and respect as hundreds of thousands of Californians stopped on freeways, exited their cars, crowded freeway over passes for many miles paying their respects and saluting as President Reagan made his final trip.

It was actually hard for me to watch.

Twice...not once but twice...Tom Bradley (mayor of Los Angeles) was very heavily favored to win the governorship of California....the "polls told us so" (the same ones that had Jimmuh and Reagan neck/neck on the eve of their race). Bradley didn't come close once the voters got behind the curtain and cast their actual votes.

When will the pollsters take 'PC' into consideration and stop skewing the results?

Sigh....not in my lifetime.

I believe the fact that MLK got number three and the father of this nation is number four says somthing about our society.

No argument with Lincoln being number two - as it should be. IMO, Reagan should have been third.

Finally this is done with.

No kidding, the endless radio commercials for it were getting on my nerves. Remember the choices listed in those radio spots? Washington, MLK, Oprah and Muhammad Ali.

It's why I think James Madison should be up there. He was one of the authors of the Federalist Papers, instrumental in developing the Constitution AND the Bill of Rights.

That's about the size of it. That Washington didn't win is startling. Reagan's great, but most of those on the list would be there without him.

That Clinton is so high on the list makes me discount the whole thing. No thinking, honest Democrat can seriously say Clinton deserves to be in a top 100 list of Americans. For the sake of argument--do libs and Dems REALLY place him above FDR, JFK, Woodrow Wilson, Eleanor Roosevelt, even?

I was thrilled to see Reagan win. MY HERO! I thought it would be Washington, Reagan, Lincoln, King & Franklin. I was SHOCKED that Washington came in 4th.

Madison definitely in the top ten. Then agian, for liberal socialist, they would hate Madison, or any of the rest of our founding fathers.

I really wanted it to be George Washington too. But to me he'll always be #1. We would never have become a country without him.

Link to one of their threads on this subject(some of the language is not suitable even for a retired sailor). Here is one small excerpt that shows their mental condition..."Much like Fess Parker in "High Noon", Mr. Ronald Reagan stood in the street and fought drugs, communism, and Nancy's astrologer singlehandedly against all odds."
