Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said Sunday that aggressive interrogations of terrorist suspects held at Guantanamo Bay have foiled new terror attacks and saved American lives.
"The information we've gotten from terrorists that have been imprisoned has stopped other terrorist attacks," Rumsfeld told NBC's "Meet the Press."
"It's saved American lives and let there be no doubt about it," he emphasized.
Rejecting the claims of Bush administration critics who say that terrorist detainees are being systematically tortured, Rumsfeld echoed recent comments by White House advisor Karl Rove, saying the American people had a choice:
"Do you want to treat terrorists with indictments and trials here in the United States, or do you want to treat terrorists like terrorists, get them off the battlefield, keep them from killing people, find out everything you can so you can stop future attacks?"
The Pentagon chief expressed dismay that there was so much sympathy for detainees who would destroy America in a heartbeat if they could.
"The people, for example, in Guantanamo Bay, are Osama bin Laden's bodyguards. They're suicide bombers. They're terrorists. They're murderers and these are bad people. These are not good people."
Keep playing that loud rap music and reading Harry Potter to these terrorists - the more intel, the better.

I think the terrorists share many things with the Left around the world - they are all mad cows.
Bush should be very specific about this in the Tuesday night speech. I am not sure if Gitmo is part of the speech agenda, but it should be, because the sheeple blur the lines between iraq and Gitmo - and any opportunity to show up the Dems on an issue will help public support for all of this.
The democrats have staked their political future on the defeat of the United States.
It's simply that to them, the party is more important than the country, or the people, or even whether they're doing what they were elected to do.
The democrats are the ideological cousins of the pols in Europe, who think that the EU must have the existing constitution despite the people voting it down.
Democrats are arrogant, and lust for power.
By keeping the average American uneducated they get away with spewing lies and more lies.
They hate FNC because they know Brit Hume exposes them for the unpatriotic haters they are.
THIS should be asked every time anyone whines about the treatment of the TERRORISTS we are keeping at Guantanamo and elsewhere.
This country answered that question with G.W.B.'s re-election. The MSM & Dems just didn't like the answer.

And yet the Liberals wish to analyze them, reform them, make sure they have 5-star living accomodations. I personally want to use them for any information to save innocent lives, then execute.

No wonder the democraps are trying to put a stop to Gitmo ... they can't succeed--they believe--if Bush and our valiant military succeed in the war against terrorism. The dems have been so successful, now the terrorists believe the dems have to succeed for the terrorists to get the heat off their butts, so the terrorists will do exactly what it takes to help their abettors in the democrap party. [I'm growing to loathe the demcrap party leadership. You can bet the terrorists will do their best to not kill democrat leaders while committing murder and mayhem. And don't cite L'il Tommy Daschle's mail ... that's past history, before the democrats really got started aiding and abetting the terrosist through their anti-america campaign.]
