Peoria -- U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin apologized to war veterans Saturday for his remarks earlier this month comparing interrogators at an American-run prison camp in Cuba to Nazis and other historically infamous regimes.
"I think when you've done something hurtful to people you have to stand up and say I'm sorry," Durbin said at a Veterans of Foreign Wars convention in Peoria, five days after he apologized for the comments on the Senate floor.
Durbin came under fire after he quoted from an FBI agent's report in the Senate on June 14 describing detainees at the Guantanamo Bay prison camp as being chained to the floor without food or water in extreme temperatures

What I am most concerned is the FBI report. I think it is time for a copy to be made public. Who reported what. Where did the report come from - an agent of low rank or someone higher. Lots of questions here. Hell, anyone can generate a fake report. Remember Dan Blabermouth.

This piece of human vermin Dick Durbin and his "Traitor" Democrat Party are directly responsible for the recent deaths of USA female marines in Iraq. His aiding and abetting the enemy is treason at best. When are the foolish American people going to rise up and destroy the current Democrat Party at the polls? Never, I guess? Well, so much for America. Nice knowing you while it lasted!!!

I'm not buying it either....
Not until the bastard returns to the floor of the Senate, on television and RETRACTS the slander..
NOT apologize he hurt someone's feelings....BUT admit he was WRONG to compare ANY of what is going on at Guantanamo to the level of human rights war crimes committed by the Nazis, Stalin or Pol Pot..
His statement was outrageous, and I was OUTRAGED..
It's really too bad dueling is illegal.

Did he offer an apology or another non-apology?
Has he retracted the Nazi reference? NO
Has he said there is no valid comparison between our military and the evil regimes mentioned? NO

I saw a short video clip of Durbin at this event and I saw a couple of Vets turn their backs to him as he walked by. The plain truth here is that Durbin hasn't apologized for anything, he apologized to those who might have misunderstood his poorly chosen words.
Durbin is a disgrace and should be removed from office or at the least step down from his 'Whip" position and be censured

"Durbin Offers Vets Apology for Remarks" The only reason he's offering apology is to save his face!!!
