~ The Canteen Music Dedication ~ (Saturday Night Jukebox) Welcome to all of our Troops, Veterans, and their families!! The Canteen Music Dedication has always been and will continue to be for you!! Thank you for joining us each week!! |
Canteen Music Dedication FYIEnjoying the Canteen Music Dedication is relatively easy! 1. If you enjoy an eclectic range of music, then you've found your place.
2. All music will be removed on Monday. So? Enjoy the music while you can.
3. You can make requests via email at musicrequests@canteenusa.com , posting it on the thread or FReepmail us. If you are a FReeper, please avoid emailing us with your requests. You can use the latter two for that.
4. We are not a downloading site. This isn't an MP3 search engine site. If you are from one of those places, please understand that we will do everything in our power to stop you from downloading our music. If you want the music bad enough, please consider purchasing the music either online or offline. We will block and ban you from our network if we catch you downloading. This is for mostly outside of Free Republic.
5. Hotlinking is not tolerated. Don't do it. We have granted permission to one other site. The site is run by a Navy Veteran and understands the music is only up for a few days.
6. The Canteen Deejays post music daily. If you don't catch something on Saturday's thread, scroll through the threads!
7. No music requests via email will be taken for this week's thread after Wednesday at Noon of each week. We will try to get to the music requests. However, we receive anywhere between 75-250 requests a weekend. We just don't have the time sometimes.
8. This music dedication has always been about our Troops, Veterans, their families, and the Canteen. Please respect that. Don't steal bandwidth and take away their enjoyment.
9. If you would like to be added/removed from the Canteen Music Ping list, please FReepmail MoJo2001 or Kathy In Alaska. We'll be happy to honor any request. 10. If you have any questions about the music dedication, please FReepmail MoJo2001. Thank you!! 10. Red colored boxes --> Warning! The music is not for children or Ma! Green colored boxes --> requests via email Purple colored boxes --> songs we think you might enjoy! Enjoy The Music!! |
~ Volume I ~ Red colored boxes are warnings that the music is unsuitable for kids or Ma! Green colored boxes indicate music requests via email! Purple colored boxes indicates music we think you'll enjoy!
~ Volume II ~
~ Volume III ~ *This week we received over 360 music requests! Thank you!
~ Volume IV ~ Where is my song? Don't see it? Request it!
~ Volume V ~ *More requested music! Tired of seeing the same songs played? Request music!
~ Volume VI ~ Why don't you ever play something good? Well, why don't you request something good?Well? We're waiting!

If you're not ready for the opening, it is startling, but I run it with the sound loud.

NATIONAL SENSE OF HUMOR IN BED DAY !!!!
I make up a lot, but I don't make up these holidays!
Quite a sense of adventure you have there, Pisces!
Horrorscope
Saturday, June 25, 2005
Aries (March 21 - April 19)
It's ok to spill the wine today, if you feel you really have to. Under no circumstance should you dig that girl, however.
Taurus (April 20 - May 20)
Another day of social convention defiance, today. You may even go so far as to send a letter to Miss Manners, which begins: "Uh, Yo:" (Well, that's how Sylvester Stallone starts all his correspondence, right?)
Gemini (May 21 - June 20)
Today you should sit down (someplace comfy), and ask yourself if you even care. You shouldn't. It's not your fault, you've been trying as hard as you can, so you shouldn't care. Not if they're going to act like that.
Cancer (June 21 - July 22)
Remember today: two wrongs don't make a right. But three do.
Leo (July 23 - August 22)
People will tease you about wearing your golf shoes indoors. Don't you mind them, though -- they're undoubtedly just jealous.
Virgo (August 23 - September 22)
You will call someone today, who will insist on calling you "Sven." Humor them -- act impressed.
Libra (September 22 - October 22)
Today you'll develop a rare mental disorder, causing you to mix metaphors. But don't you worry -- you can't make an omelette without a silver lining, and in this case, you'll discover that everyone will confuse mixed metaphors with management potential. BIG promotion in store.
Scorpio (October 23 - November 21)
Beware of short people.
Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21)
You will accidentally step on someone's foot, and they will say "Ow!." That's when I usually say "No pain, no gain." Sometimes people don't like me. I've never figured out why.
Capricorn (December 22 - January 20)
Another day of social convention defiance, today. You'll refuse to wear clothes in the "normal" fashion (if at all), and you'll begin all your business correspondence: "My Darling Snookums:."
Aquarius (January 21 - February 18)
An odd smell, probably like that of chocolate milk drying on a linoleum floor, will bring back a flood of childhood memories. You will remember your locker combination from seventh grade, for example. Ironically, this will happen during a boring yet important meeting, and you will disgrace yourself by calling someone "booger-face."
Pisces (February 19 - March 20)
Today, someone named "Svlad" will appear at your door, carrying a large inflatable penguin and a bag of pistachio nuts. Despite your better judgement, you will let him in.

One of our forecasters says the next 7 days will be over 90º and another says it will be over 80º, 10º less.
If it is over 90º for 3 days in a row it's a heatwave. We don't get too many of those and that's the way I like it. If it's over 90º for a week here, I'm going to the Pole!

BIG promotion in store. Scorpio: Be aware of short people
Well, I was born at the end of one, beginning of the other, so both usually "fit" me. However, with the Scorpio one: I am one!!! Now what???????

Hi StarChild!
I think the Boardwalk story was at another Forum's Jukebox iirc. When I post tunes at other sites they are generally accompanied with some scholarly research and educational content in order to conform with the letter of the intellectual copyright law for fair use in the public domain. Here at FR I try to keep the DeeJay chatter to a minimum and follow the "Shut Up And Sing" mantra as MoJo already has all the Drumbo Mumbo Jumbo laced throughout the small print at the beginning of each Canteen Jukebox.
I'm posting from work today and can only stop by occasionally, but there are still a few tunes in the Klown's mixed bag of goodies. Stay tuned ...
