You are so correct. I just don't understand how the court came up with this one? They must be smoking some dynamite weed!

Wait until some city tries to seize property in a minority area or a mosque.

From your tag line....in training, 4 of us were able to get the old four deuce down, set and a smoker out in just a little over 11 seconds. I carried the sights and the map. I had to figure the coords (my job), but since I already new pretty well where we were on the map (riding in a jeep w/ trailer) at Bragg, az and dec stuff was pretty easy to figure. The regular artie guys ( our graders) were somewhat impressed. First round 50 m short right, second, third and fourth about 30 secs later....well no more plywood hut.

Hey Jeff. Let's both go and FReep the Homo Parade on Sunday.

LOL - maybe we can convince everyone that gay marriages will be held on property that is taken by eminent domain.

Seriously though, I will think seriously about leaving the republican party for good if they cannot find a way to get an eminent domain restriction amendment on the ballot. The state attorney general assured us today that this would not impact Georgia since there are already adequate restrictions in place - yeah right.

The democrats are against the ruling right now, but as soon as they realize that it can be used to social engineering, they will line up in support of it.

I was the corpsman so I spent most of the time sleeping and getting a tan. Believe it or not I could sleep through fire control missions - w/o earplugs.

I did get to drop rounds a few times and even FO. I enjoyed it a lot. I have great respect for the marines, especially those that have to hump a mortar equipment long distance.

People aren't going to care. College sports will be heating up in a few weeks.

Don't forget NASCAR and baseball. Lots of neat things to preoccupy the tax payers.

Baseball tends to attract people who think. Can't say the same about NASCAR.

I haven't seen a government yet which chose to restrict their own powers. The only thing stopping the government robber barons before was the Constitution and now the Supremes have given them the free pass to seize as they please.

It might scare a lot of freepers to discover that most of my liberal friends love baseball. Hm.

A disgusting ruling by an arrogant court.

Check out this petition site:

http://www.petitiononline.com/5amend/petition-sign.html

An email correspondent's comment:

"FOLKS: This past week, SCOTUS (Supreme Court OF The United States) once again, has attempted to rewrite OUR Constitution to totally change the original intent as written by the Founders.

Eminent Domain was NEVER intended to be used by government EXCEPT to obtain property for roads, public buildings, schools, military bases and other necessary government usage.

This past week, the Supreme Court rewrote the Constitution, stating that it was legal for cities to condemn private property under Eminent Domain, to purchase and then resell to developers and other special interests, supposedly to benefit the community and the city by increasing tax revenues.

THIS IS TOTALLY BOGUS!

Please click on the link below and add your signature to the petition for a Constitutional Amendment to put a stop to this invitation to even more corruption within government and the theft of private homes and property for the financial benefit of a few.
