The White House is rejecting Democratic demands that Karl Rove apologize for saying liberals meekly offered "therapy" for the terrorists as a response to 9/11.
Press Secretary Scott McClellan says President Bush's top political adviser was just "telling it like it is." Rove delivered his blast a few miles from Ground Zero in New York, at a Conservative Party dinner, he said liberals sought "understanding" for the attack and Democrats called for "moderation and restraint" while President Bush saw it for what it was: a declaration of war.
McClellan says Rove wasn't getting personal, just describing different philosophies.
Democratic Party Chairman Howard Dean calls Rove's remarks "divisive and damaging." Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid says Rove should apologize, or resign.
At a Senate hearing on Iraq, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton called on military leaders to "immediately repudiate" what she called "an insulting comment."

That is why Hillary Clinton can never become President. She is an ultra liberal and she just cannot hide it or foul the majority of voters about it. Furthermore she is much less intelligent than she or the defeated liberals media, or the liberals, or some knee jerk conservatives think she is.

I competely agree with you. Hitlery is far from stupid, but she's light years from that "smartest woman in the world" meme she'd like us to believe. She wants everyone to swallow that one like Monica!

...they fell right into Carl's trap and outed themselves as "liberals".
My first thoughts as well.

Its the same damn trick everytime and they keep falling for it. Rove said "liberals" and all the alleged moderate Democrats lined up and self-identified as liberals. I'm waiting for Bush to say "If the shoe fits, wear it!'

The WH rules on this one. President Bush, Dick Cheney, Karl Rove and Donald Rumsfeld have been very outspoken lately. They are telling it like it is, period. I hope this sets an example (again) for the weak Republican leaders in the House and Senate.

How many leftists have apologized for likening our current administration and the troops it commands to the forces of Hitler Ho and whomever? Durbin's drivel doesn't count.
I'm sick of Republicans apologizing for telling the truth, while Democrats get a pass for lying through their teeth.

BTW, maybe I don't remember, but which specific Democrats called for moderation and restraint and understanding after the attacks?Karl didn't say "Democrats", he said "liberals". And he didn't specify anyone in office.
BUT, if you're talking elected Democrats, we can start with Barbara Lee, who was the sole vote against the use-of-force authorization, Cynthia McKinney & John Conyers, who are among those Congressmen who spoke at ANSWER rallies, and Dennis "Let's start a Department of Peace!" Kucinich.
Even Bill Clinton, who at one time said he supported military action in Afghanistan and Iraq, repeatedly proclaimed out of the other side of his mouth that we needed to send more MONEY to these terrorist hotbeds all over the world, to eliminate the "need" for terrorism. Reknowned terrorist appeaser Jimmy Carter, no surprise, is also in favor of ending terrorism via massive transfers of wealth.
That's just off the top of my head. If I kick the old memory box housing for a while, I'm sure more names will come back to me.
And I am not even counting those crazy hard-left pacifists at the state and local levels. The ones who passed antiwar resolutions in late 2002 and early 2003. All I know is that it was out of their purview, and not what they were sent to office to do, yet they did it anyway.

You are right on with this. Liberals and conservatives is very clearly a truthful statement and should not anger anyone unless they have erred on the liberal side and are hiding from it.

"Peacemaking has been replaced, in the Middle East at least, by fiddling, foot-dragging, obstinacy and name-calling, and - ultimately - by frustration and violence."Great find, thanks for posting. I was just saying this morning that the War on Terror actually started in earnest around 1967. The United States only JOINED IN (echos of WWII) on September 11, 2001.
