Every time a Democrat makes one of these absurd false statements, we should immediately show them(on the Senate/House floors one of these pictures. The Dems would melt away rather quickly then.

ON MONDAY, it was argued here that Senator Richard Durbin ought to be censured for his remarks last week, and not just those in which he made the outrageous comparison between interrogation tactics at Guantanamo and the practices of the Nazi, Soviet, and Khmer Rouge regime. On Tuesday, Durbin took to the Senate floor again, and tried to sound like he was apologizing, though of course he did nothing of the sort, as even a casual consideration of his words will demonstrate. Though the high priest of the media, John McCain, pronounced absolution on the teary Durbin, the reaction among servicemen and women, their families and supporters was not of the forgiving kind. Students of Lincoln also recognized just how carefully Durbin had shopped for his Lincoln quote.

I think it was National Review that did a column today I posted entitled "Cowboy Come Back", that begged for W to show a set.
I'll vote 3rd party. Because if McCain and HC are my choices in the 2 big parties, we need a viable 3rd party and it won't happen until people put the votes into it.

With a million email addresses and numerous blogs to pound daily. I keep the video and audio for a lot of the Dem bloviating, to pull out as needed. As well as the video from 9-11 to remind those of short attention span what's going on.

But I don't want them to say their sorry. Whatever the democrats are doing, it isn't working for them. It is resulting in them losing elections and public esteem. Yet, their answer in the face of these results is to give us EVEN MORE of the same. Thus, I don't want them to change a damn thing. Keep on keeping on, I say.

Durbin should have said something like "I don't know what I was thinking! I must've been smokin' crack, or drunker than my esteemed red-nosed/purple-faced colleague from Hyannis Port when I said that stuff!"
Jane Fonda, when promoting her new book, was confronted with her "Hanoi Jane" legacy. She did not apologize for what she did, but she regretted the effect it had on some people. All she had to do was say "I am soooo sorry. I was young and stupid when i did that, and if no one ever forgives me, I understand, because what I did was, frankly, unforgivable."
The other area of apogies that bugs me is when people apologize for some comment that is taken as "un-PC" but the thought police (like when a governor said "the natives are restless", or someone says "niggardly"). In those cases, I'd like to see someone show some cojones and say "I don't apologize for anything! You all knew what I meant, and if you didn't you're too stoopid to bother wasting an apology on!"
