Ted Nugent Ordered To Pay Child Support

June 22, 2005 5:18 p.m. EST

Douglas Maher - All Headline News Staff Reporter

Dover, NH (AHN) - Rocker/hunter Ted Nugent is ordered to pay child support to a woman he had a brief affair with in 1995.

Nugent will $3,500.00 a month to Karen Gutowski, who is the mother of the now 10-year old boy.

According to the Foster's Daily Democrat Newspaper in New Hampshire, Nugent was originally served with papers regarding the lawsuit while playing a show with ZZ Top at the Meadowbrook Amphitheater.

Gutowski will have sole custodial rights to the child, but no visitation rights for Nugent have been ordered as of yet.

Oddly enough, on Nugent's own website, it states the guitarist was named "Father of The Year". He has been married to his wife, Shemane, since 1989. they have four children together.

Bummer. Total and complete, bummer. But this will get him alot of negative press. Then again, if his name was "Bill Clinton", it would earn him a Peace (sp?) Prize.

Well, at least he got back a big refund check when she paid him back those 12 years of wrongful child support.

I seriously doubt that he will ever see any of that money again.

Do you think that the same gov't program that took his money and gave it to her is gonna just 'give it back'?

WOAH, such generalizations!

"The problem is when courts tell a man he can only see the children he loves every other weekend and then his ex screws with that time."

This is just not true. I know it happens to some dads, but sorry, most do get to see their kids.

"The love of their life has asked for a divorce because she wants to move on and she has the home, the kids, his paycheck, and a new man living in the house. He has to support himself on whats left of his check and in the cae of many like construction workers it does not matter that he was laid off when the job was done, Rain days or delays on the jobsite for other reasons are things the black robed little god doesnt want to hear about."

Again, where did you come up with this is how it happens is most situations? Out of all the women I know who are divorced not a one of them fit into your profile. I think you generalize women to much by thinking that is most cases it is always their faults. It takes 2 to get married and 2 to get divorced. I know a gal who cheated on her husband with his best friend and has divorced her husband and now is shacking up with the other dude. I can't stand the gal! I think she has screwed up her life and she is disgusting for what she did. I blame her for what happend, however I do know that her husband had been neglecting his marriage and her for awhile. Does not make what the gal did right, but I think if he would have fought harder for her they may still be together and the 2 kids have both of their parents. Oh, she gave up legal custody to him and they have 50/50 physical. Talk about a good mom! Pretty pathetic!

"The system is unfair and women get treated better for the most part. Women dont have to pay near as much in support if at all. And last there is as large a percentage of deadbeat moms as there is dads if not larger."

Actually I have a dead friend who's DH has custody and the mom is on probation and made to pay up big time on child support. Texas is tight on the mom and well as the dad when it comes to child support. The only way the mom gets away without paying child support is when a dad doesn't file enforcement for it. Again, you really need to stop with your generalizations. Women aren't the problem, sin is! People who divorce are sinning and God does not bless this. So, whatever happens after this comes straight from the Devil on both sides. Women aren't the enemy, Satan is. I don't consider ment he enemy either, but let Satan in just as easily as women do when a divorce happens. That is why you are laying all the responsibility on the women instead of realizing that in fact we are only responsible for our mistakes and not our sex. So stop with the generalizing and realize that you have fault in your situation as well as the mom.

I am not telling "others". I was telling YOU.

I don't wish to have an argument. Each of us is free to hold and express our own opinion on the subject.

Have a nice day.

Legally, the 10 years isn't his responsibility unless she filed 10 years ago.

And if she did, then he only needs to catch up, then the support should be automatically lowered.

I've been on both sides of this coin.sorry to hear you're a "non-custodial". It's no longer about 'best interest of the child', it's who can file first and spend the most on the best attorney. Once we got rid of "no fault" laws, the system became a lottery for bitter ex's trying to get even. The "family" courts are the only place I know of where you can take away someone's kids and half of what they own for doing absolutely nothing wrong.

BTW, my ex-wife rarely pays a dime of support and has never paid any medical or dental. Don't ask me why she's not in jail. Were roles reversed, I would be.

The post was in reference to the title of a Ted Nugent song.

That explains it. Thanks

I say compulsion
You say addiction

Some feel revulsion
Some say it's fiction

Compulsion!
Addiction!
Revulsion!
Sick friction!

Let's call the whole thing
AWFUL.

Some men have character.
Some men don't.
Same goes for women.

It doesn't matter if a 12 step program
validates the term "addiction"...
It's all choice.

You play,
you pay.

What is it with rockers?

Well, there's still Alice Cooper.

Cheat on HER? Isn't this gal ENOUGH?

I hear this line a lot, in disbelief that somebody would cheat on a beautiful woman. I heard it a lot after the episode with Hugh Grant cheating on Elizabeth Hurley with some hooker -- lots of women could not figure it out at all

It's not possible to have a relationship with a poster. Real women have attributes beyond their looks, some of which can really get on your nerves after a while. Real people can get bitchy, become emotionally distant, sexually uninterested, high-strung drama queens, etc, etc.

My wife is not a Victoria's Secret supermodel by any means, but she's easy to get along with, doesn't give me a hard time too often, and is available on a frequent basis, which means I would not trade her for some neurotic ice princess.

IMO, Ted and his wife have talked about his affair, she has forgiven him, and he is now taking responsibility for a kid he only found out about in the late 1990's (the affair was in 1994). My guess is that Ted, who is basically a good guy, will visit the kid, take ownership of his responsibility, and that's that.

Most people have at least one incident (or more) in their lives that they are not particularly proud of. But what you do with your life after that is what is important. Ted and his wife and their 4 children appear to have a relatively happy marriage now, and I'll bet Ted doesn't screw around and hasn't now for years. So, give him a second chance, as most people would. I can't believe that all Freepers are saints, although some claim to be so. My experience is that those who claim sainthood often are covering up problems in their own lives. Sainthood is nice to aspire to, however most fall short, but there is redemption. Think Mary Magdalene.

With all due respect, it sounds like Nugent has a sexual problem of lust, not an ice problem with his princess.

You don't need to patronize me about "real women". Like I don't know that! I happen to be a "real woman." Which means beautiful women deserve to be cheated on because they are all ice princesses?

Sorry but your misogynist logic does nothing for the flu I am developing tonight.

You did not read that correctly. I am not sure if its your reading skills or the way I worded it. Nonetheless I stated that the problem with MANY DEADBEAT DADS is that they are screwed with. I never stated anything about MOST dads not getting to see their kids. Dont put words into my mouth. I started by saying most dads pay support.

Then you go on to claim I said the part about construction workers as in most cases. Once again I am referring to why many men become deadbeat dads or as I said devestated dads. I notive that everyone else is a victom but men are labeled deadbeats without looking into the situation that they are in. Thats why I call many of them devestated dads.

Then you go on to say I say women are the problem. I never said that. Did you even read the post I was responding to?I stated that women get a better shake in divorce court for the most part. I never claimed anything about it being a womans fault.
