The United States said on June 22 it would give North Korea 50,000 tonnes of food aid, saying its decision was based on humanitarian need and was not linked to efforts to end Pyongyang's nuclear ambitions. 'The United States will be donating, in response to the World Food Program appeal, 50,000 metric tonnes of agricultural commodities for North Korea,' State Department spokesman Adam Ereli said, adding it was not designed to lure North Korea to six-party talks on ending its suspected nuclear arms programs.
Its way past time we start putting America and Americans first. If private organizations in this country want to send aid to N. Korea...so be it...at least they have the freedom to make that decision; unlike the average-Joe American, who is involuntarily is feeding the armies of N. Korea through his tax dollars.
Answer: (1) "New tone in Washington" and (2) "Compassionate conservatism".
I cannot wait for the blind defenders of the executive to tell me how this is "strategery". I call BS. Both the State department and the executive administration have failed miserably to solicit approval from we the people.
Yep, this is just as weak as the Clinton-Carter policy. The shakedown has worked.
Haven't we learned yet that this guy is not sincere what so ever...I hate to see us played as suckers again to appease this waste of a human being.
Or China........(oh...wait a minute....)
We should only send them the poisoned quatro-triticali that greased all those tribbles...
Geez, first "Charlie" comes visiting the US, now this.
Phew, for a minute there I thought the headline said he were giving more food aid to North Korea. But then I remembered we had a conservative in the White House...er...a...
He so ronery.
There is BS a plenty with our Prez & his policies. Funny, I don't remember him campaigning as a big spender.
My thought too. Oh, but the prez doesn't believe in the food should be used as a diplomatic weapon even if the food never gets to the hungry but goes into the pockets of a very small few.
Why? How could we be so stupid?
-----
We are seeing alot of stupidity coming out of Washington these days --- LOTS of it.
This stuff needs to have U.S.A. stamped, burned and engraved on every bit of it.
The Bush Admin is nuts.
The RATs are anti-American.
Like you said, how can we be so stupid?
There are a large nbumber of military procurement projects that are being scaled back becuase we "have no money". They will be raising TAXES (that is right, folks)--they will be RAISING TAXES to pay for social security, that corrupt wealth transfer scheme, AND raising the retirment age because "we can't afford it".
The U.S. continues to give money away, cancel debt and push the debt level close to $10 trillion yet we continue to give away resources to corrupt regimes out to nuke us.
There is only one explanation--our "leaders" care nothing about national sovereignty and national security. They all act like we are a nation of pure philanthropists, giving especially to the most anti-American regimes.
R U ready for a revolution yet?
It is purely political move by the president to show how compassionate and concerned he is. The left can't condemn theis because they know that they would first have to admit that communism hasn't worked there either.
