The point here is the officer was lawfully performing his duty; the terrorist sympathizers had no right to assault ("scuffle with" in PC language) him.

Prosecute them. I am sure the ACLU will bring in a top notch defense team so the prosecution should bring in a top notch prosecutor, to keep thing fair.

I gather information and intelligence on these groups (ALF, ELF, PETA etc) Their rhetoric and actions continue to get more extreme, to the point where they no longer consider the loss of human life to be a bad thing. The ends justify the means in their world view.
