Terri Schiavo's husband buried her cremated remains in a Clearwater cemetery Monday, inscribing on her bronze grave marker that ``I kept my promise.''
David Gibbs, an attorney for the woman's parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, said inscribing the marker that way was a nasty political statement by Michael Schiavo, who held the service and burial Monday before telling her family.
``Obviously, that's a real shot and another unkind act toward a grieving mom and dad,'' Gibbs said.
After earlier announcing plans to bury his wife's ashes in their native Pennsylvania, Michael Schiavo instead interred them at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park in Clearwater, near Tampa, his attorney, George Felos, said in a short news release Monday.

Uh, let me clue you in on a little secret. Terri isn't in her grave. Her ashes are (unless Michael flushed them down the toilet). Terri is in heaven. No matter what goes on down here on earth, she is at peace with God.
That won't stop the gravesite being made into a shrine. It will happen.
Well who knows God plans? Since Michael chose to kill, maybe God chooses to let the world see what is in store for all if we do not wake up and realize what man is attempting to do.
Well, we woke up.
I hope not.
Whats the big deal? He DID keep his promise.
What a bogus, bogus inscription Michael. You NEVER made such a promise to Terri, you LIAR.
What proof do you have he didn`t???Were you their??
If Michael can sue posters on FR so can Micahel Jackson and a host of others. And while they're at it, let them sue the newstations, pundits and talking heads. Let's see how far they'd get.
Too bad you oppose the first amendment for those who disagree with you.
Were you?
Why do I get the feeling that there are many of you who'd feel cheated if the man did repent all of his sins?
Doesn't matter. She was alive and he had her killed. Murder. No other definition works. Cold-bloodied murder.
When he received 1.2 million dollars for the care and rehabilitation of their daughter and immediately cut-off all medical care and rehabilitative care and started proceedings to end her life, can you understand why they might be a tad upset as well?
Even his reasons for the lawsuit to gain that money have been proven false and he still will not account for exactly what happened that night.
The person is a cold, heartless bastard in the truest sense. If he really cared about anything but himself, there is no reason to keep her body from them or have her cremated against the religious tenets of her faith. If his real promise was to let her die peacefully, he wouldn't have made her starve and dehydrate to death, slowly over 2 weeks, forcing her parents to watch it powerless. If he had an ounce of decency, he would have at least given them her ashes for their greiving and gone on with his life and new new woman and children.
BTW. Any thoughts on why it was such a deep promise to her, but took him 7 years to even remember it?
How do you ever get over being forced to sit idly by and watch as your child, even if an adult, is slowly and tortuously killed in front of your very eyes? Even the Medical Examiners report said she would have lived another 10 years, if not denied the basics of life, food and water.
Anybody who condones what that monster did to Terri's parents has no children, or if they do they don't love them. No parent who loves their children could accept the murder of their child. To me what was done to her parents was the cruelest thing I've ever witnessed in my long years.
That would be a diabolical joke they could pull off on the whole world and laugh over it for the rest of their lives.
When I was young, some girl spoiled my autograph book, well kind of gave me the willies anyway, curiously her last name was Willey:
Ashes to ashes
Dust to dust
When you die
I'll sit over your grave
And laugh 'til I bust.
Edgar Allen Poe could have wished he'd come up with a plot like that. Telltale heart.
Yeah, I had a family member die slowly from cancer, it sucks. She didn't want to ever be in Terri's shape, she was a nurse and didn't want that for her.
Terri "died" years ago.
I'm not defending him. I think both parties involved are pretty sorry.
I wonder if any of the posters on this thread are going to recognize that at least she's buried close to her parents.
Michael Schiavo always said it would be Pennsylvania, so I'll bet he did this for the sake of her parents. Do you think anyone is going to notice?
You know this how?
Good lord. Most of you guys went nuts because he had planned to bury her in Pennsylvania and not near her parents.
Now, he buried her near her parents and you guys are freaking out about that.
I got to thinking about it and I believe that I interpreted your comments wrong.
I'm sorry.
To put that remark on her tombstone is selfserving.
The remark was more about him then Terri.
How arrogant do you have to be to make someone else's burial marker all about yourself ?
Ive changed my mind, he is egomanical and was probably capable of anything.
