1921 MT probably doesn't evoke images of torrential rain. However, the 11.50" which deluged Circle otady (setting the state's 24-hr rainfall record) certainly was wee bit above average. The precipitation total for that June (16.79") became MT's all-time monthly record.
1942: Asia's highest temperature of record, 129 Deg. F. was recorded at Tirat Tsvi, Israel. Its probably that hot because of the weight of those additional 722' below sea level of atmostphere pressing on the thermometers.
1997: Over the previous 102 years of record, on only 14 occassions has Jackson, MS failed to reach 90 Deg. F. by this date. On this day 1997, Jackson set its record latest date for such temperature. The previous record was set in 1974 on the day before.

Impossible!! Global warming didn't begin until the evil Reagan administration! You know better than that. Global warming can cause heat, cold, or no change, whatever the Global Warming Priests say.

Those are the types of movies best left on 'mute'. That way you can still see the special effects.
