I want to throw something out here and see what the FR sleuths have to say about it.

Joran had an adjoining apartment at his parents home. Let's suppose, that night, he actually took Natalee to his apartment telling her he wanted to show her his digs before she left the island.

He spiked her drink there, or gave her ecstasy. She either died from a drug overdose or a struggle.

What to do? He goes and wakes up Daddy because NOW he has a dead body on his hands. The rest is left up to anyone's imagination how they got rid of her remains.

I think Natalee died in his apartment and the father was an accomplish.

Do you think that LE and the crime scene investigators were at Joran's apartment long enough for them to search and gather samples of suspected evidence?

That probably makes as much sense as anything else. A possibility.

At the risk of being flamed, I have to say, too, that the (unsubstantiated) reports that she may have run away at other locales bothers me somewhat.

She seems like an exemplary young lady -- but none of us really knows her. I'm always a bit wary of anyone who seems absolutely "perfect."

Wilbanks seemed to have it all and a flawless reputation -- at first. No one in the early days she went missing would have guessed she would pull such a scam.

I'm certainly not saying her case applies to Natalee Holloway, but the fact is, we don't know all the facts about her life.

Another good possibility. We are all going crazy with theories. I wonder how many of them the Arubian police/govt. are considering?

Personally, IMHO, I still think that "Lorenzo" fellow who supposedly had Natalee in his basement ( news we got from a post by an Arubian citizen...somewhere on the first thread) is a key. Supposedly Lorenzo is the (illegitimate?) son of P. van der Sloot from a previous relationship with a woman on the island. That woman married and her husband committed suicide. However, there is also suspicion that he was murdered.

Lorenzo was brought in for questioning and then let go. Shortly after Crues was named, and now he is being held. Did Lorenzo "finger" Crues? Seems funny the two were brought in so close together.

It seems papa VDS has had some unusual acquaintances either in his past or presently. Very possible he is in on/knows of what happened to Natalee.

Interesting theory, sw. It might explain why the 3 seem to be confused about who was dropped off first, and did they leave N at the hotel, and did one of the brothers leave the group before the others.

Good Lord, I never thought of your scenario. And he could have emailed and later called from the beach after the body was gone.

Wow,,incredible speculation.

I think you theory has some merit and daddy van der slut sure wasn't seeking a, "Fruit-Buzz" (M.D.'s) at 3:00 am the morning of Natalee's disappearance. NSNR

This sounds interesting and so far, as plausible as anything else. The father is acting awfully 'hinky' as the cops say. So I think there is something going on there. It would make a great TV mystery story.

I have to remind myself that we are talking about a real person. It's a horrible thing to happen in real life.

The scenario you gave in post #80 sent a shiver up my spine. I hope it isn't true, but it sure sounds like a very rational explanation as to what happened to Natalee.

I think your scenario is as good as any:if the father, who, as everyone by now knows, is a rising star in Aruba's Judicial System, was complicit in the crime, and an accomplice, his cries of "I will SUE to see my son!" he made recently , would seem to exonerate him from having ANY knowledge of any crime---the perfect execution of a ruse. I will tell you one thing, though----probably only a certain amount of information will come from the two brothers, and it won't be enough to hang young VDS. What is
frustrating about this case is the clogged flow of information coming from the usual sources WE are used to.
Hell, Greta Van is probably doing another non=story even as we speak.
