AAAAAAUUUUUUGHHHHH! I just wrote the longest post ever and somehow deleted it in the preview stage. I'll try to cover the same bases but don't have much time now.
I was surprised too last night when the roommate said Natalee didn't meet Joran until that day. We actually didn't hear that she HAD met him earlier until a week or more into this, but it had made sense to us and so we believed it.
BUT while *Natalee* apparently didn't meet him until earlier that day, others still had seen him in the hotel a lot during the week. Likely there had to have been some interaction among other teens in the casino. There have been no inconsistencies to date as to events *actually witnessed.* The inconsistencies rise from all of us repeating what others have said that others told them someone saw -- know what I mean? Some of the stories haven't been traced to the original source.
Reports about Joran have indicated two different sides: 1) super nice guy, 2) teen with anger management issues. It would not be inconsistent for some from MB to have benign or positive impressions while others saw him differently. Not all the teens saw or even heard about the shoving match. We didn't know til we saw it in the paper.
Likewise, not everyone saw all the same events. It does not mean they did not happen. For example, my daughter was in C&C's from around 11 or a little before and stayed til closing. She was puzzled when she heard that Natalee had been sick in the bathroom, because she herself did not *see* or even hear about *anyone* being sick in the bathroom, even though the club isn't all that big. A tourist couple says it was Natalee being sick and her friends were helping her. It turns out that someone matching Nat's description on the trip (80% of them match Nat's description!) had indeed been sick. We in the community now know who the girl was because she and her friends confirmed this up at the church. It wasn't Natalee, even though the tourists *believed* that's who they saw (= eyewitness report). But it *did* happen -- at least as far as a MB girl being sick -- even though some of the girls at the club did not at first believe it (= eyewitness report). Lots of inconsistencies there -- but none deliberate or technically false... except the i.d., which was an understandable mistake.
We are also surprised that no one -- at least to the knowledge of the few kids I talked to -- can pinpoint who *actually* saw Natalee get in the car and who *actually* saw her waving as they drove by. By the time the first group was leaving Aruba, at least a dozen kids were consistently repeating the story that she had been seen getting in the car and then seen (by same or others) driving by and waving. One of Beth's first statements to the press said 20-40 teens saw her *get in.* But as we try to pin it down -- "you heard it from whom who heard it from whom" and so on -- we (I mean me & the few I've spoken with) still haven't found any of the original sources.
One news reporter told me he had pre-interviewed one of these eyewitnesses very early in the case, but as the teen had not as yet been questioned by the FBI, he backed out of speaking on-air. The reporter would not say his name (amazing). And of course we do know *someone* saw it because the suspects themselves corroborated the witness accounts. The boys *did* leave C&C's with Natalee in the car described.
FYI, some students were questioned by the FBI very early and some others later. I'd say 90% had already been questioned when they called my daughter in some time ago. The agents would not let me accompany her any further than the building's foyer. Also, the agents did *not* ask her *not* to speak to media or others. But that doesn't mean others weren't asked not to. None of us knows who was or wasn't banned from talking.
On these boards, most of us have seen the same interviews on tv. But how many questions here have shown discrepancies in what we thought we heard and how some others have relayed it on the board? How many times have we asked, "Did so and say say *this*? I can't remember..." There are about 150 people involved in the story to some degree. There is always going to be confusion on some issues.
Here's an example: On Greta's interview the other night, was her last question to my daughter "Do you know who saw Natalee after you spoke to her?" Or was it, "Did anyone see Natalee after you spoke to her?" She swears the question was the first, to which she answered "no" -- consistent with what she has said all along (and relayed by me to this board from the beginning). But *I* heard the question as the latter -- to which her response of "no" could not be an accurate answer.
So it's not hard to see how easily inconsistencies can pop up under all these circumstances. And now that I'm tired as I type & may be confused as to what I wrote before & whether I got it in this version as well, I may have left out a word or a line which will make *this* confusing &/or inconsistent, too!
I hope we will know all the answers soon.

Natalee's dad and stepmother ARE in Aruba. They have been interviewed but not often. They live in Mississippi.
