Caron Strong is a former actress who has appeared on TV and in film. She's the mother of a young daughter, Cayla, her pride and joy.
Caron recently became the national director of mobilization for Operation Outcry: Silent No More (www.operationoutcry.org), an organization "working to overturn Roe v. Wade in light of new evidence of the physical, emotional, and psychological damage to women who have experienced abortion and new scientific evidence regarding the undeniable humanity of the child at the time of conception."
She knows first hand the horror of abortion. She's been through it more than once, and she doesn't want women to needlessly suffer like she has.
"Operation Outcry addresses the women's rights aspect of the pro-abortion dogma and contrasts their ideas with our actual experiences," says Caron. "We are women who know first hand the remorse, guilt, pain and shame of abortion.
"We are women who have attempted suicides, lived out lies and buried our nails into our carpets trying not to wake the neighbors with our grief-stricken cries. We are women who have received forgiveness and healing in Jesus Christ. And now we are women speaking the truth that abortion 'rights' advocates do not want to hear, namely, that abortion hurts women.
"Coming to grips with the fact that I took the lives of four of my very own children could have been the end of me. I thank God Almighty for pulling me through."
Caron has this to say about the significance of Operation Outcry as it relates to the pro-life movement:
"We cannot save the baby if we do not care for the mother. We are to 'love one another deeply from the heart.' In a number of ways, women can view the abortion mill as a place of safety rather than the horrific and life-altering truth of what it actually is. We are to love the woman considering abortion as well as the post-abortive woman. We are to love that woman even as she walks into the abortionist's door.
"Long before Operation Outcry developed, many in the pro-life movement believed the real impact would be made when women who had abortions spoke out. The women of Operation Outcry are thus an answer to many prayers.
"As more women speak out, other women in the same situation will recognize the need for healing. And as they are healed, they will then feel empowered to take this tragic experience in their lives and turn it around to help other women. In doing so, they also will spare the lives of these women's precious unborn children.
"It doesn't end there. We are seeing men beginning to speak out, grandmothers, siblings God is so good!"
Her last name says it all. Matt C. Abbott is the former executive director of the Illinois Right to Life Committee and the former director of public affairs for the Chicago-based Pro-Life Action League. He is a Catholic journalist and commentator. He can be reached at mattcabbott@ hotmail.com .

Definitely not cracker crumb material.
She says we have to love the mother as well. I know that's something I miss in my passion about abortion.

Jennifer O'Neill was a fairly well-known actress and now is a well-known pro-life activist.

This is WHY Caron Strong is a "former actress".
Kudos to her!

Project Rachel is famous for the aspect of loving and supporting mom's who have had abortions. The Gabriel Project supports women who are pregnant and wish to keep their children. They work with them BEFORE AND AFTER the birth so that they can find employment, housing, etc. Finally, Choose Life.org offers license tags in many states. The proceeds go to adoption agencies for those women who choose to have the child but give it up for adoption.

Actress Tells Senate "I Paid for My Abortion My Whole Life"
Actress Jennifer O'Neill shared the painful memories of her abortion with more than sixty-five House and Senate staff members at a Capitol Hill briefing Monday afternoon.
|
"I had the abortion and paid for it all my life until I healed and am now able to help other women," O'Neill tearfully told the audience.
In an effort to overcome the emotional despair, O'Neill turned to shock therapy. Unable to cure her depression, she set her sights towards Heaven and eventually came to her present-day Christian faith. Now, she finds solace in the forgiveness God provides.
Like O'Neill, some 43 percent of women who have reached the age of 45 have had an abortion approximately 25 million women total. However, women who have abortions don't celebrate the decision and the truth rarely makes it past immediate family and close confidants.
"If it's such a good idea, why is it shrouded in secrecy," O'Neill asked the audience.
O'Neill urged the passage of laws that would make information about the emotional and physical complications following an abortion available to women prior to her abortion decision. "I was told a lie from the pit of hell that my baby was just a blob of tissue."
A former "Cover Girl" model for an unprecedented 30 years, O'Neill spoke at the Senate briefing on behalf of the Women Deserve Better campaign. The outreach is an effort of a group of pro-life organizations dedicated to advancing the pro-woman aspects of the pro-life message. Their goal: highlight how abortion hurts women and provide women with practical resources to choose alternatives to abortion.
"Of course the protection of the unborn child is at the center of my heart," O'Neill explained. "However, the aftermath of abortion can be equally deadly for both mother and unborn child. [A woman who has an abortion] is sentenced to bear that for the rest of her life."
O'Neill discussed the pattern of coercion that sometimes compels a young woman to have an abortion. Such pressured abortions can be caused by schools that lack adequate resources for pregnant college students or parents who don't want to help a teen mother raise a child.
"There is no quick fix for an unplanned pregnancy," O'Neill said. "But where do teens go when told they are going to be kicked out of the house if they have the child?"

What is so "new' about this evidence of harm to the mother from abortion?
I was working in the pro-life movement 25 years ago and we all knew this stuff. Organizations like WEBA (Women Exploited By Abortion), Open Arms post-abortion counseling and AVA (American Victims of Abortion) are some of the organizations that have been around a LONG time.
Suddenly some actress decides to hop on the bandwagon and it's all "new evidence."
Build you own kingdom somewhere else, lady.

We certainly need people speaking out against abortion. Some people, however, use the cause-de-jour to build their careers, etc.
