A friend of mine has completed the second part of a very worthwhile project, one that every Catholic voter should be made aware of:
". . . I have put together a report on how the 131 Catholics in the U.S. House of Representatives AND Senate, voted/acted on the non-negotiable issues of abortion, embryonic stem cell research, cloning, same-sex marriage, euthanasia, and torture. I looked at 14 different actions (votes, co-sponsorship status, co-signing of letters of support). An introduction and links to the report in Excel and HTML formats can be found here. I hope it generates discussion and thought. Of course, comments, complaints, etc. are welcome."
Welcome to FR.
Kind of tough to read, bloss! Can you give us a brief interpretation.
Just bookmarked the link to look at later. Looks very interesting. Thanks.

Interpretation - you need to get new glasses.
Okay, just kidding.
What I saw in those stats is that if your Congressman is a liberal then most likely they are a Roman Catholic In Name Only (RCINO).
For the most part it was Green for Republicans (following their faith) and Red for Democrats (dare I say, following their undeclared faith). There were a few exceptions, such as a dem rep from MS that clearly followed the best interests of the nation and his faith. One dem from MA who wasn't too bad (at least by comparison), and a few weak pubbies (as if that's any surprise)
The red/green is hard to read; some actual number summaries would be better. Maybe you are leaving it up to the reader to decide the saliency of each issue?
Interesting.
Sorting on party you can really see the extent of the polarization between Democrats and Republicans on these issues.
Anyone have suggestions as to why there is a block of apparently Moderate FL Republicans?
Don't forget Evangelicals... evangelicals will want this information too, as our political and social stands are essentially identical to Catholic.
How does he justify this? He sources an ultra-liberal article from the National Catholic Reporter.
I guess he thinks that makes it a split issue since all the hate-America Dems signed onto that one.
The rest of it is ok though.
