Over the last two decades, Chicago, Illinois has earned the reputation of having one of the highest rates of police coerced false confessions in the United States. Many documented cases involved the use of unusually brutal tactics, including electric shock, beatings and using a plastic bag to restrict oxygen. The problem got so out of hand that the Chicago Police Department was forced to conduct an internal investigation to weed out corrupt officers who were known to conduct cruel interrogations.

Well, well, well.....seems Dickie Durbin should be more concerned about his own backyard than Gitmo interrogations.....

"False" confessions? Well, it's like Justice Scalia once said: "They probably did something!"

"Those poor criminals." This kind of lament sounds a little bit too much like ACLU whining. Let's worry about the victims of crime before getting too caught-up in how the perpetrators are treated.

No wonder the Chicago masters are afraid of the servants owning guns.

It should be emphasized that torture will cause a person to say anything. So, they'll confess. But if you want to know where the next al Qaeda operation will be, no amount of torture will worm it out of them if they don't know.

Let's worry about the victims of crime before getting too caught-up in how the perpetrators are treated. The point is that the police are not the ones who find the 'perps' guilty - the jury or judge does that. There are some bad apples in the Chicago police department.

Hell, there are bad apples in all levels of Chicago government! But their precious Senator Durbin is just rotten to the core.....

Sorry, but prisoners at Guantanamo Bay are far too potentially dangerous to be allowed to scam our court system with their buddies in the ACLU. I'm tired of terrorist slime hiding behind the Bill of Rights. I trust our military far more to decide who should be detained and for how long.
