What are guys doing over there????????????????????? Stop it!
"you"
Just felt another one here in downtown L.A. 2:00 a.m. geez!
Thank you for serving. And in the serving, the training served you and your community well during the earthquake, obviously. Being in the US military is the very best overall disaster and survival training which can be found. And it lasts a lifetime, that training.
When Mexico (City) has a quake, for example, the run is north.
All I could find around 2:00 a.m. was one near Highland and one near Ridgecrest. Small ones but my building rolled for awhile afterward. This is getting a bit disturbing even for a native like me.
Jeez, last year there was a 3.0 in Illinois and I thought someone had slammed into the side of the house... can't imagine what it's like riding out this quake swarm and waiting for the Big One!

I must admit that part of me misses 'em.
.
Mostly just the gentle wiggle of the house. We have a display case with glass shelves and about a dozen wine glasses. They jingle when the earth shakes. This one had them going off and on for the better part of a minute. I was surprised by the distance listed at http://earthquake.usgs.gov.
Sounds real enjoyable to me, you must have some cool stuff under your desk.
I don't know what you guys are doing out there, but you need to STOP!
Definitely something odd going on here. I'm off to L.A. today, just in time for "the Big One" I suppose. Fabulous.
A 3.0 feels a lot stronger in the Midwest than it does in California because the bedrock here is so fragmented from previous quakes and fault lines that the energy isn't transmitted through the Earth as efficiently. I haven't felt any of these latest quakes at all.
