Has political debate sunk so low that a comment that hideous can be made by Sen. Richard Durbin (D-Ill.) without repercussions?
Only if you're a Democrat. Lott's mistake was not trashing our country and the people who protect it.

And yet Durbin is quiet on the torture Ted Kennedy committed against a woman in his own car with no way out while he negotiated with his lawyers for a way of the situation he had created.
Durbin doesn't know that the warm fuzzy feeling he has from betraying our military comes from crapping his own pants. He expects Americans, servicemen and their families to smell it and smile.
Time for him to be forced out of the Senate in disgrace.

It's the media- had Newt said this, he would have been gone already.
Also, the gentlemen Senators of the GOP, don't get dirt under their fingernails. Nadler and Conyers are on the GOP like white on rice. But, God forbid, Sen. Warner make an issue of this- nah, he might get his hair mussed.

This article, from Jill Zuckman of the Chicago Tribune, may explain why Durbin gets reelected. After reading this biased piece of crap, my thought about Jill Zuckman was, "If you love him so much, why don't you marry him?"
WASHINGTON - (KRT) - With his unassuming Midwestern demeanor and genial bearing, Dick Durbin is no one's vision of a political street fighter.
Yet Illinois' senior senator - who is growing in stature as a national Democratic voice and a font of strategic and communications advice for a party eager to regain its footing - found himself on the receiving end of Republican outrage this week.

Making such outrageous statements to attract attention is a sign of fundamental dishonesty. Dean and Durbin are all you need to know about the Democratic Party, but in case you'd like to know more you should really see this.

It reeks of dishonesty.

Funny to see this posted today as John Stuart from the koolaid left did a segment on people refering to others as Hitler. Next, he followed with a segment about freedom in Iran.

Well look at it this way, even Jill baby knows the Dums hate the military and America. Why else would she be swooning over his filthy remarks.
The more it sinks in with people just how (&^$*()*_(&*^$$ disgusting this man and his thought process is, the Dums are doomed. To compare AIR CONDITIONING temps, to the "showers " of the Nazi Death camps is UNFORGIVABLE..... and must be punished.

Has anyone in the Senate even raised the possibility of censure? I agree he should be punished, but unless I'm mistaken he won't be.

What is up with all these Nazi references? You've got Byrd, Durbin, and Santorum (among others) all referring to their opponents as Nazis. That's particularly rich from Byrd. But none of these guys are as bad as Nazis.... honestly...
