WASHINGTON — "Reprehensible" is the word used by the White House to describe remarks made by Sen. Dick Durbin () earlier this week comparing the treatment of prisoners at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, to victims of Nazis, Soviet gulags and Cambodia's Khmer Rouge.
To compare treatment by guards at Guantanamo Bay to "concentration camps and Pol Pot's regime is simply reprehensible," White House spokesman Scott McClellan. "I just think those remarks are reprehensible and they are a real disservice to our men and women in uniform. Our men and women in uniform go out of their way to treat detainees humanely, and they go out of their way to uphold the values and the laws we hold so dear to our country.
"When you talk about the gulags and the concentration camps and Pol Pot's regime, millions of people, innocent people were killed by those regimes," he said.
In remarks on the Senate floor late Tuesday, Durbin, the No. 2 Democrat in the Senate, read the report of an FBI agent who described treatment of prisoners at Gitmo, including one detainee being held in such cold temperatures that he shivered, another who was held in heat passing 100 degrees and one who was chained to the floor and forced to listen to loud rap music.

Your comments are a great disservice to our military personnel in Guantanamo; they also trash and diminish the bravery of all U.S. soldiers and veterans who have fought, and continue to fight, to overcome evil regimes and spread democracy around the world.
A more un-patriotic, pro-terrorist stance could not be given by the most anti-American liberal/socialist in the country.

Okay...Dick Durbin works for the Terrorists and global antiAmericanism. I've said it many times before: anti-American hostile sentiments throughout the world begin at home with the "liberal" MEDIA, leftist politicians and Democrat party partisan demagogueral.
By making these outrageous slanderous traitorous comments, Durbin might be sending the message, "Arab Muslim terrorists don't target me, I support your Jihad."

Dear Senator Kyl,
I would like to take an opportunity to register with you my disgust at the remarks of your colleague Senator Durbin comparing conditions at Guantanamo with the Nazi concentration camps.
These comments in a public forum contribute greatly to the cause of the enemies of the United States and undermine the service and morale of our military personnel.
As a 22 year Marine Corps veteran I have an understanding of the need for our miltary personnel to feel that our government will keep faith with them.
It appears that the Democratic Leadership in the Senate has stooped to a new rhetorical low in their efforts to hang the troops out to dry in the name of
politics.
In Republican Rome, a man could not achieve Senatorial rank without serving his time with the legions. Right now that policy makes more sense to me than ever before in my lifetime.
I feel that as Leaders of this country, the Senate has a responsibility to call into account conduct and statments such as Senator Durbin's. He should be censured by the Senate. He and his ilk make me ashamed of our government,
embarrased for our republic, and question why I would ever want my children to serve in a miliary that is at the mercy of his type of leadership.
I would ask that you pass my comments along to Senator Durbin in whatever forum you wish as well as my contact information should he desire to speak

Here's my letter to my senators;
Senator,
As the father of a soldier, I am furious with senator Durbin’s comment likening him to the nazis, Stalin’s and Pol Pot’s murderous savages. One hundred million people, innocent men, women and children were killed by these animals. Thousands of our soldiers died to stop these evils. A “so called” senator has the audacity (insanity) to compare the very ones that give him the protection and freedom to speak to the scum of the hearth.
I DEMAND that you stand up for our soldiers. Condemn this stupidity and request an apology to our troops on THE FLOOR OF THE SENATE. Full censure of Senator Durbin is the only appropriate response to this insult to our soldiers.
I will be expecting to see your appropriate response to this outrage.
Where are the Republican -- and Democrat! -- Senators condemning this scurrilous slander? Look, we've got the full cast of Democrat Political Repertory Theatre players: Conyers, Durbin, Bill Press et al, with the media cast in the role of Greek Chorus. The first act's about over and the poor, pathetic Pubbies don't know the curtain's gone up. I've seen this play several times before and it's a tragedy unless the Pubbies wake the hell up and energize the spear carriers!

You know Dick Durbin represents East St Louis. I think he basically just said that all of the african americans in East St Louis are actually Nazis. There are hundreds of homes without AC and thy reach 120 inside on just about every Summer day.
I live about 20 miles from there, but I find it troubling that this man would compare rap music, hot air and being cold to being buried in mud, thrown in ovens and the murder of millions of people.
I think he should be required to spend six months as a prison gaurd. Let him be spat on. Let him hear the praising of American deaths. Let him listen to the calls for Jihad against American children. Then let him look the soldiers in the face and tell them they are torturing these guys.
It's time people --- especially United States Senators --- paid a price for their words. I think the guards at Gitmo should be flown into DC and sent onto the floor of the Senate and be listed one by one as the men and women who Dick Durbin claims have tortured the people who want to kill our children.
