Yesterday President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney and their wives attended a Congressional Picnic at the White House.
Today President Bush attended National Hispanic Prayer Breakfast at Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C along with members of Congress and former Cabinet Minister Tom Ridge.
The President also voiced doubts over the elections taking place in Iran The June 17th presidential elections are sadly consistent with this oppressive record. Iran's rulers denied more than a thousand people who put themselves forward as candidates, including popular reformers and women who have done so much for the cause of freedom and democracy in Iran.
Later in the day he spoke about Medicare at the Department of Health and Human Services in Washington.
It was also announced that the President will welcome Iraqi Prime Minister Ibrahim al-Ja'afari to the White House on June 24, 2005

The Presidents father the Former President Bush is in Weimar, in the eastern region of Germany.
Former US Secretary of State Colin Powell and former prime ministers Bob Hawke of Australia and Mahathir Mohamad of Malaysia are attending a global leaders forum in Kuala Lumpur.
Unlikely political allies, Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist and Hillary Clinton join forces to push for a new medical records bill which will allow hospitals to share patient information they said is necessary to prevent life-threatening mistakes, during a joint press conference at George Washington University Hospital in Washington.
Apologies to those who it may offend for posting the photos of Hillary that follow but if I had cropped them it would have looked strange and would IMHO be doing the very thing that we Conservative criticise the democrats of censoring and presenting news in a bias fashion.

Hi, Mike!
I have a feeling a lot more could be done with it, though, so if you can figure something out, that would be peachy!
I still can't believe the picture. Wow!
That picture explains to me what a good healthy marriage is all about, and I thank God we have a first couple who obviously share that kind of commitment.
I watched a DVD the other night titled "George W. Bush: FAITH IN THE WHITE HOUSE", its a very good documentary that explains the convictions of our President and First Lady. The DVD is available on the Conservative Book Clubs Website
Howdy my fellow Marylander, How are ya?
In this age where so few marriages last, and so few young people have positive examples of marriage to look up to, it's really neat that we have this incredible couple leading our nation, who model what it's all about.
And they're so CUTE too!
I getting the book
"The Cube and the Cathedral"
Below is one of the reviews
Book Description
One of America's foremost public intellectuals argues that Europe's abandonment of its spiritual and cultural roots raises urgent questions about democracy's future around the world - including the United States
Why do Europeans and Americans see the world so differently? Why do Europeans and Americans have such different understandings of democracy and its discontents in the twenty-first century? Contrasting the civilization that produced the starkly modernist "cube" of the Great Arch of La Dfense in Paris with the civilization that produced the "cathedral" of Notre-Dame, George Weigel argues that Europe's embrace of a narrow secularism has led to a crisis of morale that is eroding Europe's soul and threatening its future-with dire lessons for the rest of the democratic world.
Weigel traces the origins of "Europe's problem" to the atheistic humanism of the nineteenth-century European intellectual life, which set in motion a historical process that produced two world wars, three totalitarian systems, the Gulag, Auschwitz, the Cold War-and, most ominously, the Continent's de-population, which is worse today than during the Black Death. And yet, many Europeans still insist-most recently, during the debate over a new EU constitution-that only a public square shorn of religiously-informed moral argument is safe for human rights and democracy. Precisely the opposite, Weigel suggests, is true: the people of the "cathedral" can give a compelling account of their commitment to everyone's freedom; the people of the "cube" cannot. Can there be any true "politics"-any true deliberation about the common good, and any robust defense of freedom-without God? George Weigel makes a powerful case that the answer is "No," because, in the final analysis, societies are only as great as their spiritual aspirations.
How did you do that so fast?? You are GOOD!
OWF, We had a newly welcomed FReeper to this thread "noteiverseUSA" who got banned today twice, I'm willing to go to bat for her, I'm hoping all of you will as well
Twice has she got banned again tonight then?
Yup, and I asked the Admin MOD why and no response
She's definitely (Jolie) succumbed to the too-thin mantra of H-wood. She looked so much better before.
Plus she has no manners. One does stand up when introduced to the SOS.
Have you seen her incredible artwork, snugs?
Billie is AMAZING!! Her sketches of the President and First Lady are awe-inspiring.
What can we do?
I'll wait and see what response we get from the Mods, I have great respect for them, and if "noteiverseUSA" deserves a second chance, I'm sure she will get one
Thanks in advance AdminMod
***I found when I went to Niagra on the Canadian side...****
Snugs, since I've always lived close to Niagara Falls and am so familiar with it that I can't judge how it looks to visitors anymore, would you tell me your impressions? Were you disappointed? Were you expecting nothing but trees and Indian canoes? Did you go on the Maid of the Mist boat to the foot of the falls? Did you spend your time there only on the Canadian side?
Hopefully, they'll see that this one was different.......definitely NOT a troublemaker...........and restore her status.
