Sadly, it is true.

African Churches are infused with syncreticism, mixing the traditional African beliefs with Christianity. What is neeeded is solid teaching. Check out Derek Prince's Ministry at http://www.dpmusa.org/.

That was an interesting (in a good way) response, considering the other stuff posted on this thread. Thanks for lightening the mood a bit.

try African Pagans, not African Christians. There is no proof whatsoever that they are christians. besides, Christians follow the gospels, or else they aren't Christians.

>> It sounds like some immigrant Africans have mixed some aspects of Christianity with the superstitions and ceremonies of their native religion. <<

Ain't the first time.

(Santeria, voodoo, The Democratic Party of Illinois)

(OK, that was cheap. Yet satisfying.)

Since Christians do not sacrifice people...those that burned witches, were obviously not Christions...at least that's what someone will probably claim.

Burning "witches" was not human sacrifice. It was a highly dysfunctional attempt at a justice system, in a society that had been nearly destroyed by an apocalyptic plague.

It's even more funny when people say "Christians don't kill kids as a sacrifice".

That really needs to be said / sarcasm off /

"This is total bullshit. Christains do not sacrifice human life, it is anti-Christain to do so. What a total waste of disk space."

Correct.

Put bluntly, there is no need for a sacrifice when the pefect (and willing) sacrifice has already been made.

"btw, Christians did burn witches at the stake many, many years ago. What you practice today is just a nicer form of Christianity)."

Wrong, what we "practice" today is the exact same Christianity as it always was from the very beginning. the Gospels haven't changed a bit.

What they did then, burning whiches, was not Christian, those were acts by the misguided, led by a lunatic who strayed from the teachings of Christ.

Define "sacrifice."

In the way they are using it in this story. Killing people to appease a god.

> The Catholic chuch IS Christ's church. St. Peter being the first Pope of it in a sense. Protestants just don't like following the gospels.

SHAZAM! There's Exhibit A. Now all we need is a Protestant to come along and claim that Catholics are idolators.

Gee...wonder who funds this rag?

Muslims?...those seeking to stir up more rebellion and more murder in England?...

Riots and crime encourage the govt. to take away freedom..
and gives them license to do so

Urban legend? Apparently this horrible stuff is being done in the first world and the article is written up by a Brit who obviously has nothing good or factual to say about fundamentalist Christians or has no clue what that term means.

I wonder if you do either...

Oh, I'm not arguing against that.

The Romans, however, began to charge that Christians did these things literally, leading several early Christian writers to put forward apologias in defense of the faith.

I still find it disturbing, however, that the Evening Standard (the original source of the article) would call a group practicing a violent form of voodoo "Christian".

Ah. Like burning witches.

Or Jews, or "heretics," or "apostates."
