This whole Guantanamo thing burns my buns a bit.

On the one side I agree with the left in that we need to do something ... but I do not agree with what nonsense they say, i.e. 'close the base', 'it's an embarassment', etc.

What moron wants to release these terrorists? Especially knowing what the results of the 'experiment' (I would think it should be called) of when the last '4' that were released, i.e. their showing up to fight our soldiers as soon as they could.

WHY don't we set up a tribunal and trial on each prisoner? It is idiotic to try to hold these creeps till the 'end of the war' or whatever, as there may never be an end of this war. Did we hold the spys we caught till the end of the 'cold war'? No, we tried, convicted and sentenced them. Why is this any different for this 'war on terror' that will probably last as long or longer as the cold war?

In fact, it will last longer precicely because we are NOT doing anything with the prisoners except giving them club med treatment. Who can say that the four that were released and were back fighting our soldiers didn't do it with the hope of getting a trip back to Guantanamo because of all the great accomodations!! ;-)

Enough!!! Set up the tribunal and start to convict, sentence and hopefully have some summary executions and make them public. This war on terror has to quit being so politically correct and start being serious!!! Off with their heads!!

Military trial for the Gitmo illegal combattants? F*** yes.
Sooner rather than later. And televised executions for the guilty. They deserve no less.

First of all, the Geneva Convention does NOT cover them. They do not wear a uniform of a Country. In any war in the past, if you were caught out of uniform by the opposing forces, you were excuted as a "spy" and there were NO questions asked.

So why all of the fatherly protections for these terrorist now? This is just another avenue for the socialist left in this Country to take down the Administration, and give this Country another black eye.

Start excuting these terrorist, and the socialist left will only scream and cry louder until they get what they want.

In fact, nothing this Administration does, or will do will satisfy the left, so why even try?

Get on with the war on terror and stop trying to coddle these socialist idiots! They attempted to make this an issue during the election, and they lost! I eman what does it take to wake up Americans to the real issue here? The left hates Bush, the war on terror, and this Country, and will do anything to bring them down, and not necessarily in that order!

Exactly!

Holding them without trial is ridiculous, especially considering the way many of these were nabbed ("They must be guilty, or why else would their rival tribesmen have turned them over to us for the bounty?!") We've admitted they were not all guilty, not all terrorists (quietly releasing those we can determine).

I don't want these scum to drag the USA down toward their level of barbarity. Perpetual imprisonment without trial is not the American way.

We need military tribunals followed by executions. There's no point in keeping them alive any more, and we need to make room for others we catch.

I listened to the testimony. We only start the prosecution process when INTEL says they are through with them. More than 250 prisoners have been released from Gitmo using screening panels. Some have been sent back to their home countries for prosecution. There are over 40 countries represented in the prison population.

What's the rush? We held German prisoners for longer periods. The Nuremberg Trials lasted until 1949.

Bad example. Spys we caught and tried during the Cold War were traded to the Soviets for our spys. I think the only spys executed by our government in recent history was the Rosenbergs and they were American Citizens.

'Justice' then and now, for one thing. You can forget 'summary' executions and in public, yet. as well; and certainly no such thing as a 'speedy trial'.

And just imagine the 'MSM' carrying it all. . .and protecting the 'victims' rights here. . .
