Security authorities uncover West Bank terror cell that planned to carry out suicide attacks in Israel. Among those arrested are four Palestinian teenagers slated to serve as suicide bombers
TEL AVIV – Security authorities have uncovered a terror cell in the Balata and Askar refugee camps, in the West Bank town of Nablus, that was in the last stages of a plot to carry out suicide attacks in Israel.
Terror cell members were apprehended in recent weeks, but the story was only cleared for publication Wednesday.
Among those arrested are four recruiters and four 15-16 year old Palestinian boys, who were slated to serve as the suicide bombers in the planned attacks.
Authorities said the terror cell was directed from Lebanon by the Hizbullah.
Teen says he wanted to become a ‘martyr’
One of the minors apprehended, a 15-year-old boy, told interrogators he was recruited to carry out a suicide bombing. The teen approached a recruiter he knew and told him he was interested in detonating himself in Israel.
In response to the recruiter’s question regarding the motive that pushed the boy to volunteer, the teenager said he wanted to become a “martyr” like his friend Amar Alfar, who carried out the suicide attack in Tel Aviv’s Carmel market in November 2004.
Three Israelis were killed and 40 others were wounded in that bombing.
Another terrorist told interrogators he was videotaped reading out a will at a Nablus refugee camp, a custom terror groups have adopted before sending out suicide bombers on their mission.
A minor from Askar admitted he had been recruited to carry out a suicide attack in Israel, but turned himself in at an IDF checkpoint because he feared that family's home would be demolished in return.
Also arrested was 17-year-old Balata resident Mahmad Hashash, who is suspected of recruiting local youths to carry out suicide attacks, including a 15-year-old boy who eventually attempted to blow himself up at an IDF checkpoint on May 22.
Soldiers detected the explosives he was carrying, and the attack was thwarted.
While the plots to kill more Israelis with sick methods continue, Sharon is going to give more land to the enemy, starting from July.

Liberals in the West will protest 15 to 16 year olds having a hand gun, but...arm a 15 year old Palestinain with a freaking SUICIDE BOMB and those same liberals will hold their tongue...criticizing nothing but the "oppressive" Israeli and American security responses.

What is making these Palestinians want to commit suicide is the Hawaian disease, Lackanookie. I guarantee if they were getting laid they wouldnt want to die. But you hide the women, hide the girls , make them wear Burka's and kill them for having affairs and the boys get all that pent up desire going and next thing you know they explode.

Amen, pod'nah. The liberal left and UN also criticizes Israel security services for their policy of demolishing the homes of suicide bombers as a deterrent.

I still think this is the test that if the Arabs fail, no,
not the Palestinians, they are just puppets for the general Arab population, Israel will unleash unprecented force on a
new Palestinian State, if attacked. And I believe an attack on Israel by a new palestinian State in concert with other Arabs is almost inevitable. I also think Bush will back the
all-out Israeli response.
Decent people understand that the Arab culture is one of unmitigated violence. Besides, they contribute NOTHING but
violence to society, and that's how it's been since 1948,
Israel's founding. And Israel, if attacked, will also go after their oil deposits. Just my opinion, but it's a strong hunch.

I'd have confidence in your scenario if it was a few years ago, but with the actions of the past year or so in pushing harder on the "road map for peace" and actions by the Sharon regime, I honestly wonder if Israel would respond (the Sharon gov't, not the IDF).
