This is just a small example of this guy's mental defectiveness. I'm surprised he's got any followers at all in his church.

A flier on the Web site of Pastor Fred Phelps' Westboro Baptist Church. . .

Which consists of about 10 people - all members of Phelps immediate family.

Perhaps they should do the '21 gun salute' while pointing the weapons at Mr. Phelps and crew.

"Is he claiming this soldier is responsible for the bombing at his "church"?"

You don't get it because you are a normal, rational, and sane human being.

I only got it because I supervise a truly deranged person, and that experience has given me great insight into the minds of people like Phelps.

Phelps is saying that God killed this US Soldier because someone bombed Phelps' church in Kansas.

The "logic" goes like this:

Some bombs Phelps' church.

That makes God mad. (Because God is on Phelps' side)

The US Government was somehow behind the bombing, or the US Government failed to aggressively pursue and identify, and arrest, the bomber.

So, God avenges the bombing by killing a US Soldier.

See?

If you are deranged (and/or if you have a very warped theology), this makes perfect sense.

"One wonders if the Rev Fred is on Soro's payroll. He is the perfect provocateur that the media love to profile in order to smear all evangelicals as being deranged fanatics."

I was thinking EXACTLY the same thing!!

Everytime I see garbage from one of those so-called human rights groups he funds in Russia or anywhere for that matter.... I JUST know that Soros is up to something EVIL!!

Don't insult carnies like that.

Carnies frighten me. Very small hands. Smell like cabbage, you know.

In 2003, Phelps demanded that he be allowed to erect an anti-gay monument in a Boise public park. To avoid a lawsuit from his group, city officials voted in 2004 that a Ten Commandments monument be moved out of the park.

Any "preacher" that demands a Ten Commandments monument be moved is already a few fries short of a Happy Meal. I hope that, should he decide to turn out for a military funeral, some people kindly and gently speak to him about the error of his ways. I'm thinking of some kind and gentle Airborne-style negotiation tactics...

Phelp's and his family form a small cult. Not surprisingly, they document all threats, insults, etc. they receive while protesting, and attempt to press charges against people that stand up to them.

If I lived in the area, I would be happy to join a mob that descended on Phelps and his supporters and beat the cr*p out of him.

I too was wondering if Phelps is a left wing mole. Phelps supported Al Gore for President in 1988. It seems strange that someone who used to be a liberal would engage in extreme gay bashing.

Most conservatives, if not all conservatives, have repudiated and denounced Phelps a long time ago.

"While we respect Mr. Phelps' right to protest, we would hope that he would respect the family and friends of this young person by not disrupting the memorial," Sobba said.

Phred Phelps have resepect for someone other than himself? Hell will freeze over first.

"Phelps said the fact that French led an all-American life gives him all the more reason to picket her final public tribute."

This man displays amazingly loose associations. Usually a sign of some level of Schizophrenia.

But someone, please beat his a** anyway.

Hey Fred, the Mullahs are a little short on staff right now. I'm sure Islam could find room for a like minded
loony preacher like you.

Nah. Phelps was pulling this sick crap long before Soros got into politics.
