TAMPA, Fla. - The medical examiner's office plans to release its autopsy report Wednesday on Terri Schiavo findings her family hopes will shed light on the cause of the collapse that left her severely brain-damaged 15 years ago.
Schiavo, 41, died March 31, nearly two weeks after the feeding tube that had kept her alive was removed under a court order obtained by her husband, Michael Schiavo.
Her death ended a bitter legal battle between Michael Schiavo, who said his wife did not want to be kept alive artificially, and her parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, who disputed doctors' finding that she was in a vegetative state and insisted she could improve with therapy.
Terri Schiavo's brother, Bobby Schindler, said Tuesday his family is eager to see if the report indicates what went wrong when her heart stopped beating for several minutes in 1990.

You're a disgrace.
Okay.
It means you can't take it away, even if your religion disagrees with it. You and the government have no right to take my life or liberty.
Where do you see anything to the contrary in our founding documents? Where do you see primacy being placed on life above rights?
Many men and women have given their lives to fight for our rights. Are you calling them fools? Without life, some rights still have meaning...like the rights of our survivors not to have your estate confiscated... but that's poor consolation for losing Life. But likewise, having life without Liberty is called slavery. Yes, you live, but our country is based on denying neither of these things.
And regardless...it goes back to the point that if life is a right...then I also have the right not to exercise it. If you agree I have a right to life, then I have an implied right to die...else our whole Constitution and Bill of Rights breaks down.
Would be nice if more people had that attitude instead of insisting they rule others' lives!
WOW, I can't believe this is finaly coming out. I don't expect much in the findings and honestly I think that if there was anything of importance in them other than what we already expect the police would have already arrested Michael Schiavo for murder. So, we can all guess what the autopsy says, the cause of her death is starvation and deyhydration. However, because that was a "legal" death it will not be considered murder and Felos and his crew can go on with their life like this is no big deal.
*shaking head* at you.
"Can hardly wait till tomorrow and thus the Shiavo "case" is over and done with. Blessed be the day."
Don't you wish. You can already see some tinfoilers on this very thread calling the report fixed before it even comes out. Some of these people won't be satisfied unless they get a report proving beyond a doubt that the husband was responsible AND that if the feeding tube hadn't been removed Schiavo would have risen from her bed to dance a jig and then write a book about her experiences.
"It has taken this long because the fix is in."
BREAK OUT THE TINFOIL.
In general, final autopsy reports take weeks and weeks -- unless of course this is a television show. Then it takes just a few minutes.
You're so FOS it is laughable.
PVS is a clinical diagnosis, it can't be confirmed by autopsy. Nobody will be happy with the coroners report.
The fact that no independent expert was allowed to observe means truth will not be told.
We have to keep the Democrats out of our wallets, and the Republicans out of our bedrooms. Sheesh.
I kid you not. That's what the reporter on ABC radio news claimed this morning.
Many in the media are hoping the autopsy will "prove" Terri was a "vegetable" and therefore Lebensunwertesleben (life-unworthy-of-living).
But an autopsy cannot "prove" either of those things, unless the patient's entire brain was completely destroyed --which Terri's was not.
But the autopsy could point toward the reason for her cardiac arrest in the first place; and might also show whether there had been a blow to the head, neck trauma, or bone breakage that could have been a result of a beating.
I am not aware of the political leanings of Michael Schiavo, but what about that judge who ruled on all of her cases? That is sort of who I had in mind.
Judge Greer is the person I was talking about. He is an elected Republican.
"Convenient that the body was cremated so that no one can challenge the findings."
Good, will keep the whackos from prolonging this whole Schiavo episode ad infinitum. Enough is enough. Give it up. It's over, whether you realize it or not.
That is difficult to believe!
You have some gall, calling people who care about stopping the slide into barbarism that euthanasia signifies 'whackos'.
It's over, whether you realize it or not.
Whether you realize it or not, it isn't over. Those who promote the culture of death, either at the beginning of life, at its end, or for the handicapped, won't stop.
And the people who believe that every human being is made in God's image, that our inalienable right to life comes from the Creator, won't quit either.
For many, what happened to Terri was a defining moment in American history.
We will NEVER forget what they did to her.
Whether you realize it or not, it isn't over.
Oh yes indeedy it is. You just don't know it yet. Just a little self denial on your part. In a few short weeks, this will be just a memory. The feasting off of the Shiavo case has reached its end.
Dream on.
