My husband was born in San Francisco and lived there all his life, up until a few years ago. He says they have earthquakes and tsunami warnings all the time -- he also says instead of staying inside, people would go down to the beach to look for the tsunami (there never was one when he lived there).

i had lived in the Bay Area for 36 years, and i'd never heard a tsunami warning... earthquakes you could actually feel are not that common... we now live closer to the central valley...

Warnings don't do much good, it's where you are when things happen. Me and my wife were just celebrating our anniversary at a restaurant on SF Bay within the last two hours, just got back. Staring out the window at the bay waters just 10 feet away, real choppy because of high winds. Our home is on a hill, but it won't do any good when we're at bayside or oceanside!
