I am in West LA -- I saw a tsunami warning for the LA area on my cable TV, but so far nothing -- let's hope it's stays that way.

The quake was way up in the ocean near N. CA, so I don't know if it would really cause a tsunami here.

I think they just overdoing it to make up for the fact that they didn't warn when they should have.

They're cancelling the tsunami warning up and down the coast, now. Whew -- that was freaky!

i had lived in the Bay Area for 36 years, and i'd never heard a tsunami warning... earthquakes you could actually feel are not that common... we now live closer to the central valley.

Warnings don't do much good, it's where you are when things happen. Me and my wife were just celebrating our anniversary at a restaurant on SF Bay within the last two hours, just got back. Staring out the window at the bay waters just 10 feet away, real choppy because of high winds. Our home is on a hill, but it won't do any good when we're at bayside or oceanside!

Well, there goes a chance to wash clean the California Judicial System after setting Jackson a drift to molest more little boys...

From CBS's website:

"Stuart Weinstein, a geologist at the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, says that if the quake does cause a tsunami, it is not expected to be as strong as the Dec. 26 killer wave in the Indian Ocean."

Gee, THANKS! Dude! [slap forehead]

Yep, no reason to tune in to the 10 or 11 o'clock news now :)

I can see Paul Moyer already in his makeup chair. He's cussing that there's no disaster to report.
