Rich-poor gap gaining attention

The income gap between the rich and the rest of the US population has become so wide, and is growing so fast, that it might eventually threaten the stability of democratic capitalism itself.

You can't import 15-20 million illegal 3rd world immigrants (and constantly beg for more) and then not expect to have an income gap.

What a paradox. We import them, our INCOME GAP expands while their INCOME expands ten fold.

Yup, back home the illegal might make $5-$7 day vs. at least that much per hour here. It ain't rocket science why they come. I would too if I were them.

I've got an uncle from Tennessee, raised up in Alabama, a big time gun rights guy, sort of a libertarian I guess. He's been going on about this income gap thing. He's disgruntled due to real bad chronic heart problems, a failed marriage, an insolent child, trouble paying medical bills or staying employed. I guess we can only take so much of a beating. Income gaps aren't my beef. I think much bigger than that. My beefs are death and pain. But Epictetus teaches me to try not to concern myself with those things, because I cannot control them. But income gaps? The CEO of my company makes like 23 million a year plus perks. And yet, I sorta feel like I'm getting one over on em for making what I make, which is a decent 5 figure income. I'm happy with my lifestyle, so I don't have an economic axe to grind. I guess that's why my enemies are those hard to accept, out of my control aspects of life: death and pain.

A natural mathematical function of a growing economy and growing wealth of the people is a growing gap between rich and poor. Can't be helped.

Exactly, but other than Fox news who is going to report that?

Additionally the income/wealth gap does not consider the difference between the long employed and the recently employed. In other words, people who have worked all their lives have more money than people who are just starting out. But people who are just starting out expect to be wealthy one day. As well they should.

Would Fox news even report that? It doesn't bleed and it's not sex, that would put it at the bottom of the order for every news show. I supposed Britt Hume might mention it in passing once. Always remember there's a reason it's "TV news" not "news on TV", the TV comes first.
