Another Twist in Holloway Disappearance

June 14, 2005 — Aruba authorities released two former hotel security guards detained after Natalee Holloway went missing, and one of the men said three others arrested in the case have lied about their actions the night she disappeared.

Holloway has been missing since the early morning hours of May 30, the day she was to return home to Alabama after a five-day chaperoned trip to the Caribbean island. The two guards were taken into custody after the three other young men told officials that after partying at a local bar, Carlos 'n Charlie's, they dropped Holloway off at her hotel around 2 a.m.

The three men include Joran Van Der Sloot, a 17-year-old Dutch honors student at Aruba International School who is the son of a high-ranking judicial official in Aruba, and two brothers from Suriname.

Antonius "Mickey" John, 30, who was released along with Abraham Jones, 28, told ABC's "Good Morning America" that Holloway had been dropped off at the Marriott, not the Holiday Inn, where she was staying. He said he had spoken to one of the other three men in custody.

"They made up the story about dropping the girl off at the Holiday Inn," John said. "He said, 'I took the girl from Carlos 'n Charlie's and went to the lighthouse.' He was driving, his brother in the front seat, the Dutch guy in the back behind his brother and the missing girl behind him in the back."

John said Holloway was dropped off close to the Marriott.

No one has been charged, and lawyers for the three detainees and two men just released all say their clients are innocent.

Natalee's mother, Beth Holloway Twitty, told "Good Morning America" that John's statement confirmed her beliefs that the three men still being detained know what happened to Natalee and have been lying to authorities.

"It is as I have known all along and that's only because of who I am and being Natalee's mother," Twitty said, adding that she has met two of the three young men still being detained in Aruba and had seen some of the security videotapes.

Twitty also recalled the last moment she saw her daughter — she was dropping Natalee off at a friend's house at 4 a.m. on May 26 for the trip and Natalee was complaining of her highlights being too blond.

"Now I look back on that, I think what a precious moment that was," Twitty said.

The flying dutchman with daddy as a judge will get off and he's probably the killer.

If you're right, it's time to work the two others for a plea deal to rat him out.

I'm afraid that poor girl is gone forever.

Getting pretty obvious that the "politically connected" kid may be the bad guy. I'm guessing he's a Kennedy comparable.

Who knows. Maybe she was drugged or maybe she got bored with her girl friends and wanted to have some fun as a slut.

Well I don't know who did what, but I would start by "talking" to the three that were last in the car with her.

They had better figure out that someone better start talking, because they are not likely be left alone until the crime is solved.

The tall guy -6'5"-with his picture on the net makes him easy to spot and if he was out of jail, I sure wouldn't be hanging around with him...

At their age and inexperience all are probably easy to "talk" to and rollover, and the brothers are more likely to break unless all three had equal parts in her demise, and silence will only implicate them deeper. JMHO...

I hope no one is sending them free Soldier of Fortune magazines, complete with advertisements....it might stress them out...

With her father reportedly having been in Spec. Ops, too bad somebody couldn't do him a favor and extract Joran for an "interview" in the dead of night. Or would that be rude??

So, all the men in custody were allowed to talk with each other?

Considering the alternatives, an "interview" might be welcome....sometimes you need to help people get their minds right and pay attention to what is important..it can help their memory when they are concentrating on their immediate future, it brings it to the forefront...for example in combat, people aren't thinking about what they are going to do tommorrow, but instead concentrating on what they have to do now in order to see tommorrow..Lots of legal ways to focus their attention...
