230 years of service
ME | Colorado Mike

Posted on 06/14/2005 6:15:34 AM PDT by Colorado Mike

Today is the 230th Birthday of the nations Guardian. Kinda disapointing that Freepers didn't either know it or acknowledge it. Any way Thanks to the barve men and women, past and present that have been willing to stand for what really matters. Freedom.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is the Nation's Guardian? The National Guard?

It may have been beneficial for you to state in your post that you were referring to the 230th birthday of the U.S. Army.

I know that's the the 230th birthday of the Army. My brother is stationed in Ft Gordon and had to dress up as a revolutionary soldier for the festivites.

Just because you have yet to see a post on the subject doesn't mean all FReepers didn't know it. BTW, it helps to put an actual subject in your post.

Thanks, RepubMommy.

230 years of the Army. Valliant, dedicated, faithful and heroic service to this nation. Indeed, something worth celebrating.

Sorry, Mike. I didn't know you were referring to the Army. Nor did I know it's been 230 years. Thanks for letting us know.

Oh, BTW, I forgot to tell you to check out the FReeper Canteen. Today's thread is devoted to just this subject.

"Kinda disapointing (sp) that Freepers didn't either know it or acknowledge it."

Did you do a survey here on Free Republic before you got "kinda" disappointed? If so, you didn't ask me

We know, and acknowledge the birth of the greatest Army in the world. Being a veteran 11B, I only ask, did you bother to check the reaction to this birthday at DUh?

What with the Jackson verdict all over the airwaves, I suppose the mainstream media will get around to acknowledging the 230th anniversary of the Army sometime by 2006 or so.

Well, if it was known it wouldn't have taken me to post it would it? Don't feel bad no other blog or MSM outlet(not that I would expect them to care.

As posted earlier, the FReeper Canteen recognized it earlier. Posting ambiguous insinuations about the patriotism of real FReepers will only lead to your just flaming.

BTW: what have your fellow DUhmmies had to say about today being Flag Day and the birthday of the US Army? Why do I think that they'll burn Old Glory to celebrate?

Excuse me? I would assume then that my 22 years in the Army wre insignificant then? I was disapointed that it didn't show up here, for that I get flamed? What a jerk.

I may have served in the Air Force, but if it wasn't for the Army, I'd never have HAD an Air Force to serve in! I'm ready to wish them a happy birthday, and say "Thanks!"

I'm ready to show respect for the Army's history.....

I have a question. If you are a member of the freerepublic community and you recognize a situation that if noted would benefit others, why not just mention it.

Instead you act the smart---. Why not just be helpful.

Example:
I'm suprised all you freeper monkeys didn't know it was the anniverary of bla bla bla.

Vs.

For those of you who may not realize it, today is bla bla bla.

See the difference dick.
