Here's another Republican who will never darken the doorway of the Bush White House...
Let's have a compromise.
Just count illegal immigrants as three-fifths (3/5) of a person for the purposes of allocating congressional seats.
After all, there is a precedent ... that the Democrats agreed to.
Agree completely. Good for Candice.
None of the congress critters that love and represent illegals will let this even be considered.
"How about a congressional amendment nullifying the legal interpretation of illegals giving birth in the US whereby their children DO NOT become automatic citizens?"
Yes. If they are not here legally, how can they claim anything automatic for the children who are born here?
At least, there has to be a requirement for non-citizens to register their children as native born citizens. Otherwise, what proof is there that they were born here? The catch would be that automatic deportation should preempt registration, thus illegals would never have the opportunity that should only be granted to those who live here legally.
I agree. They should change the representation part, and nullify birthright citizenship at the same time.

How about a constitutional ammendment declaring that all illegal invaders must leave the country within 90 days.
Protect our borders and coastlines from all foreign invaders!

Are minors citizens and do their numbers count toward congressional representation?
I wish that we could convince her to run against Stanebow. She would be a wonderful Senator.

Expect to hear Grijalva, Pastor, Rangle, Pelosi, Kolbe, and the OBL host have a fit on this.
That is fine with me. Deport all people not legally here. We need the elbow room here in California...
So sad and probably true. If you have morals, stand up for what is right, do what your voting constituents want, and don't pander to big business who want slave wage labor, you are taking a chance your political career won't last long. I think greedy business is the drive behind all of this. For the love of money is the root of all evil.
I drove by two young strapping men about 18-20 doing landscaping, shoveling mulch and remember smugly thinking, see, we don't need cheap illegals, our young men are strong enough to do the job.
Then I got talking to a bricklayer neighbor who is already feeling the pinch from the illegals (i.e. "day workers") I didn't even know we had. It's just begun here but I'm thinking, he might better start looking for another line of work, America has no room for blue collar workers anymore. Perhaps he should check out unemployment compensation and then look into welfare. I rarely see him, he's working 70-80 hours a week (he said).
