I'm in the Orlando, Florida area and we are getting deluged with rain and lightening like you wouldn't believe (effects of the tropical storm hitting the Panhandle.) I just hope my TV and computer cable doesn't get knocked out again before the race is over. I want to videotape it.

Yup, I just checked on that.
I swear, they showed a #9 horse winning a race and made a comment like 'Afleet Alex bowled a 300' as they led into their bowling programming. I've been frantically checking for results for the past half hour.
FR sets me straight once again.

Hang in there, bud, and send me some of your rain (midwest).

Yea, they are usually started a lot sooner than this, but the regular person who does this couldnt do it this time, so I filled in at the last minute.

Well thanks a lot for filling in. I always look for these racing threads.
I heard them say that the Belmont is the oldest of the triple crown races and was run at Jerome, NY the first time and moved to Morris, NY later on. The second winner of the Belmont was a filly.

I'd be glad to send you some of this rain. We were hit with 4 hurricanes here last year. It was UNBELIEVABLE!

Yea, the race is older than the racetrack. I didnt know a filly won it the second time though.

Cool! I like Afleet Alex but you can't rule out Giacamo. However it turns out these two horses should be in the top three finishers. So my official prediction is...
1. Afleet Alex
2. Giacamo
3. This week's longshot.
or...
1. Giacamo
2. Afleet Alex
3. This week's longshot.
or...

3. Giacamo
Safe enough?...:-)
