Reno cited in fender bender
Former U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno was cited for causing a fender bender Friday afternoon in Marathon.
Reno, 66, of Miami, was driving a 1999 Ford pickup south on U.S. 1 just north of 109th Street when she apparently failed to stop and struck the rear-end of a 1999 Ford Explorer driven by Kenneth John Michels, 52, of Key Colony Beach, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report by Cpl. C. Scott. Michels had stopped for the red traffic light, according to the report.
Michels was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
The crash occurred about 2:30 p.m. in front of the Office Depot complex.
The front bumper of Reno's truck was lying in the roadway after the crash. The truck was towed away from the scene by Florida Keys Towing.
Monroe County Sheriff's Capt. Bob Peryam drove Reno to Key West as a courtesy, Sheriff's Office spokesman Greg Artman said.
Reno was cited on a charge of careless driving.

This is undoubtedly close to the truth. There have been stories circulating for years in the Miami metro Dade Police Department about Janet Reno being found in a car at the Dadeland Mall, doing the nasty with a young woman.

The actual collision damage to Reno's truck was light.

The front of Reno's vehicle crashed into the back of the car in front of her, which had stopped at a red light. Reno's truck was towed and she rented a car from a nearby airport to continue her trip.
Reno was did not immediately return telephone calls, so the reason for her crash could not be determined. source

I like the way the AP writer makes it sound as if Reno's truck crashed into the other vehicle all by itself, independent of the idiot behind the wheel.

Note how the AP article fails to mention that Monroe County Sherriffs gave her a lift to Key West, as reported in the KW Citizen this morning.
Captain Peryam who gave her the ride is no Sherrif Dept. lackey, either, he is 2nd or 3rd in command at the SD.
Why should she think of Mrs. Weaver? Rudy Ridge was a George H.W. Bush Justice Department Production. The Atty. General at the time was William P. Barr.
While the 'Toon Administration and Reno certainly have much to answer for, Ruby Ridge isn't one of them.
