'Deep Throat' double standards
WorldNetDaily ^ | June 11, 2005 | Les Kinsolving

Posted on 06/11/2005 2:30:40 AM PDT by Jim Robinson

Shortly after I moved from California in 1973 to begin covering the last year of Richard Nixon in the White House, I was invited to the home of a very affable FBI leader named Mark Felt.

He explained that he could not answer a number of my questions – including one dealing with the identity of the Washington Post-designated "Deep Throat."

I still believe that some of the information fed to Woodward and Bernstein was from additional sources – but attributed to this exciting nickname, the title of a porn movie. And that compels a question:

Why did the Post pick the name of a porn movie for their big and hidden informant?

"Deep Throat" was treated as a hero by much of the same Old Big Media that have simply demonized Linda Tripp.

This is absolutely unfair, since this also U.S. government employee provided the evidence of such extraordinary sexual misbehavior – and subsequent presidential lying to the American people – that William J. Clinton became the first elected president ever to be impeached.

The American Left, it seems to me, is simply following the Third International Line. As Lenin said,

"The class struggle is still proceeding, and our task is to subordinate everything to the interests of this struggle. And we subordinate our Communist morality to this task. We say: Morality is that which serves to destroy the old exploiting society and to unite all the toilers around the proletariat, which is creating a new Communist society. Communist morality is the morality which serves this struggle ..."

"... loyalty to the ideas of Communism must be combined with the ability to make all the necessary practical compromises, to `tack,' to make agreements, zigzags, retreats and so on, in order to accelerate ... the inevitable friction, quarrels, conflicts and complete disintegration ..."

That which furthers the Revolution is Right. Anyone who disagrees is Wrong.

According to Liddy and several others the orginal break-in was to obtain a file folder that contained pictures and portfolios of talents of a large prositution ring that was providing services for DNC bigwigs. In other words the DNC office was used as a front for the prositution ring. This of course is never mentioned in any news casts.

Linda Tripp advised Monica Lewinski to save the stained dress and tape conversations with Clinton, In effect she saved Lewinski's life. Tripp also reported the thefts of White House gifts by the Clintons. Thefts which still havent been investigated thoroughly.

I always figured Deep Throat came about from the movie, natch, but with Deep indicating the source was under deep cover, or deeply hidden, and Throat just meant that he was talking.

Tripp was a brave woman. She probably saved both of their lives. I believe Linda was also one of the last people to see Foster alive.

For virtually anyone alive at the time and in the same age demographic as these 'reporters' it was obvious that the nickname came from the movie - Woodward and Bernstein thought they were being clever. Any other explanation is pure fantasy.

Linda Tripp did not illegally leak information from an ongoing FBI investigation. Felt did.

Seems like a pretty good description of Felt.

Speaking of porn, I wonder how the hookup of an older gentleman meeting a bright young naval officer in a basement room of the White house couldn't be viewed as a gay encounter.

Note that the ring was providing services to Republican bigwigs as well. John Dean married one.

This prostitution ring big-wig link to me is the most interesting, least reported portion of the history - could explain a lot concerning lack of support for Nixon from his own party.

The primary strategic reason for operating a call girl service under the control of DNC would be to gain dirt on Republicans. It's a great scam - understandably unethical but still a great scam.

This may be off-topic, but which came first: The movie or Watergate?

The truth of "deep throat" is that top FBI agents played two cub reporters for suckers.

The Washington Post didn't do outstanding investigative reporting, they just sat still while powerful men who majored in corrupting the human spirit used them.

Felt should be arrested -- and Woodwood, the Washington Post and Bernstein should return their prizes. ( and yeah, Nixon was a crook... and probably Kennedy, Johnson, and Clinton were too.)

Movie. Must have been '72. EVERYBODY had heard of "Deep Throat". Considerable struggle made to get it classified as pornography and out of at least local movie theaters. Pornography control laws were still on the books in those remote days.

"Deep Throat" was one of the milestones in the decline of this nation. Hope you young people can do a better job of doing what is right than my generation did.

In 1973, it was "follow the money".

Now, it is "we need money, so we will fabricate stories". [Revealing who Deep Throat is, MD4BUSH].

When the Washington Post is in doubt, just fabricate a story to suit what you want the headline to be...

In 1973, it was "follow the money".

That line came from the movie. It was never a Washington Post fabrication -- it was a movie fabrication.

If you have not done so please read "Ron Brown's Body". I can't remember the author right now, but he presents compelling evidence that Brown and all aboard his plane that "crashed" in Croatia were murdered. I know it sounds crazy, if I had not seen the author on Cspan I never would have known about this book. Like Mark Lane and the JFK assassination books in the mid 60s it's not the kind of book the NYT is going to review. The book is not easy to find, my local Barnes and Noble had one copy on hand several months ago, but recently, those who wanted it had to special order.

The WaPo kept two cub reporters on the story because if it blew up they'd be easy to sacrifice. By late spring '72 it was clear Nixon was going to be reelected, probably in a landslide. The Dems and WaPo were waiting until after the election for their senior people to come in and begin the hunt for Nixon. Their only concern (and it was a big one) was about puting Agnew in the White House. That was taken care of when a local Republican (liberal) prosecutor in Maryland received information that the Vice President had been taking illegal payoffs from contractors while governor of that state. In 1973 the Grand Jury in Maryland begins investigating Agnew, and with his resignation only a matter of time, the Watergate investigation begins to get heated up in the Senate. Someone should look into the Agnew case, I'd bet they'd find some strange stuff.

Once the Senate (remember that great protector of liberty, Sam Ervin (racist)?) and the Big Media outlets took over, Nixon was cooked. Those were the days when the MSM could and did set EVERY agenda. Look, Nixon WAS guilty of a coverup. That's not the question. The question is: did he do anything other administrations had not done and did he deserve to go down for it? Read Conrad Black's "FDR"; Black says that compared to the secret stuff FDR had the IRS and FBI do, Nixon was a saint. THERE IS NO QUESTION THAT BIG MEDIA USED A HUGE DOUBLE STANDARD IN COOKING NIXON.
